Rites Held For Mrs. Alexander

Mrs. Cornellia Lyday Alexander, age 89, of route one, Pisgah Forest, died late last Wednesday in a Waynesville nursing home after a long illness.

She was a native of Transylvania county and a charter member of Turkey Creek Baptist church.

Surviving are one son, Birt Alexander of Pisgah Forest, two sisters, Mrs. J. C. McCall and Mrs. Lewis Orr, both of Pisgah Forest; two brothers, Jim Lyday of Pisgah Forest and Will Lyday of Morganton; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Friday in Turkey Creek Baptist church.  The Rev. G. H. Dellinger officiated and burial was in the Turkey Creek cemetery.  Pallbearers were Arnold Brown, Earnest Lyday, Howard Orr, Emlin Orr, Carl McCall, and Lowe Davis.

Frank Moody Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
