[Deed Book 10; pg. 1-2] July 23, 1808 - I Richard JARVES of Camden County for the sum of $730 paid to me by John C. BRUMSEY for a tract of land at Powels Point & Currituck Sound. Beginning at the mouth of Webbs Creek & Currituck Sound various courses, binding the tract of land I sold to John WESKETT dec’d to the land belonging to the heirs of Samuel BROWN dec’d binding sd. land to the land that belonged to old Joseph EVINS dec’d to the head of Garpond Creek down the Creek to the Sound various courses of the Sound to the first containing 150 acres.  Witness: Levi H. [Deed Book 10; pg. 4-5] July 15, 1806 - I John WILLIAMS having been ordered by the Court on motion whereas that Samuel WILLIAMS an infant under 21 years by his Guardian John WILLIAMS to sell the lands which descended to him from his Father Thomas Pool WILLIAMS deceased so much as will satisfy the debts due from his estate. I John WILLIAMS in obedience after legal notice did offer for sale a piece of land being part of the plantation whereon Thomas Pool WILLIAMS dec’d formerly lived. Beginning at Indian Town Bridge along North River to John WILLIAMS binding his land and MEASERCAU & RALPH along the main road to Thomas Cooper FEREBEEs corner to Brickhouse BELL & Thomas Cooper FEREBEE corner binding BELLs line to North River binding the River to the first containing 266 ½ acres. Samuel WILLIAMS appeared & bid the sum of £1872, 3 Shillings & 6 Pence & was the highest bidder, I have granted & conveyed unto Samuel WILLIAMS the aforesaid land.  Witness: Thos. C. [Deed Book 10; pg. 5-6] Aug. 20, 1807 - I Caleb ETHERIDGE by 2 Writs of Fiere Fariaes issued out of the Court of Pleas & Quarter Session commanding me out of the goods, chattles & lands of Spencer WALKER dec’d to cause the sum of £7, 3 Shillings, 5 Pence & 3 Farthings which was recovered against him by Thomas POYNER Guardian & as security of John WESKITT for debt & also the sum of £4 & 6 Pence damages by reason of retention of that debt by him the Guardian. 2nd Writ against Spencer WALKER dec’d cause the sum of £45, 17 Shillings & 6 Pence which was recovered by John MACOY the real Plaintiff recovered against John Weskitt SEN. & Spencer WALKERs Adm. for debt & the sum of £7, 5 Shillings & 8 Pence for damage.  I Caleb ETHERIDGE Sheriff in obedience of Writs took into possession a tract of land adjoining the land WALKER formerly lived on Powels Point. Beginning at Simeon SAWYERs corner to James ETHERIDGE line to ADAMS line along his line to SAWYEARs line to the first containing 37 ½ acres, after legal notice Jacob SAWYER appeared & bid the sum of £66, 14 Shillings, 4 Pence & ½ penny. By virtue of the Writs I Caleb ETHERIDGE Sheriff have granted & conveyed unto Jacob SAWYER the said messuage of land.  Witness: T. BAXTER, Wm. WILSON; Registered Nov. 3, 1808

[Deed Book 10; pg. 6-7] Aug. 31, 1807 - I Caleb ETHERIDGE by virtue of Writ of Fira Facies issued out of the Superior Court for the District of Edenton held in Edenton, commanding me that of the goods, chattles, & lands of Joseph FEREBEE, Samuel FEREBEE, Thomas WILLIAMS & Willis SIMMONS to cause the sum of £597 & 6 Shillings which was recovered by Plesent YOUNGHUSBAND against them. In obedience of Writ I took into possession a tract of land of Joseph FEREBEEs & did expose to public sale the tract of land in Moyock District known by name of Light Swamp bounded by the lands of Thomas COX, Joseph BALLENTINE & others containing 300 acres. At the sale held on Aug. 31, 1805 when Willis SIMMONS appeared & bid the sum of 15 Shillings per acre & was highest bid. By virtue of Writ & the sum of £225 paid to me by Willis SIMMONS, I Caleb ETHERIDGE Sheriff, have granted & conveyed the said land unto him.  Witness: T. BAXTER, S. FEREBEE; Registered Nov. 3, 1808

[Deed Book 10; pg. 7-8] June 18, 1808 - I Samuel FEREBEE Executor of Solomon ALCOCK, pursuant to the last will & testament of ALCOCK dec’d [see his will] did on June 18, 1808 sell at public vandue for the sum of £3 & 12 Shillings which was best bid by Charles V. HERBERT a messuage of land or marsh known by the name of The Head of the Bay near the head of Cowinjock Bay which ALCOCK bought at John HUMPHRIES Esq. deceased vandue being 93 acres.  Witness: T. [Deed Book 10; pg. 8] July 12, 1808 - I John WESKETT have this day leased a parcel of land containing 30 acres to George BRICKHOUSE, the peace of ground I bought of John WESKETT, Samuel BROWN dec’d land & Spencer WALKER dec’d land & Samuel WESKETs land also 20 acres of marsh land adjoining Samuel WESKETTs 50 acres of Clement HILLs for the full term of 10 years. George BRICKHOUSE is to improve the land & marsh, to clear as much & put in cultivation as he shall think proper. Beginning #2 beginning at #1 various courses containing 16 acres, 1 Rod & 13 poles worth 10 per acre. #5 beginning at #4 with WARDs line to #4 to River side containing 16 acres, 1 Rod & 13 poles worth $3 per acre to Betsey GRAY who now intermarried with Willoughby MORRIS who by virtue of his intermarriage hath sold the sd. lot of Betsey GRAYs unto John CAMPBELL which afsd. lots being part of the SHEAR plantation formerly John GRAY dec’d which was equally divided between GRAYs heirs.  Witness: C. [Deed Book 10; pg. 10-11] May 23, 1807 - I Dennis DAUGE JUN. for the sum of $600 Silver paid to me by Samuel FEREBEE for a messuage of land whereon Dennis DAUGE JUN. now lives. Beginning at Neds Run down main road to the first containing 50 acres of land & swamp, it being the land I bought of John HUMPHRIES. Also 2 feather beds & furniture, 3 chest, 1 walnut table, 6 chairs, 14 head of hogs, 3 head of cattle, 1 horse & other household furniture.  Witness: Chs. [Deed Book 10; pg. 12] Dec. 2, 1807 - No. 250 (sic) - Know ye that for the sum of 50 Shillings for every 100 acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by Thomas WILLIAMS Esq., Joseph FEREBEE Esq., & Col. John WILLIAMS for a tract of land containing 350 acres known by name of Betseys Marsh. Beginning at John HUMPHRIES entry various courses to the first, inclosing an entry made by John HUMPHREY Esq. entered Dec. 10, 1806. Yielding & paying unto us such sums as our General Assembly may direct, provided that WILLIAMS Esq., FEREBEE Esq., & Colo. WILLIAMS shall cause this grant to be Registered in the Registers Office within 12 months of date hereof. /s/ B. WILLIAMS; Registered Nov. 24, 1808

No. 289 (sic) - Treasury Office Nov. 23, 1807 -  WILLIAMS, FEREBEE, WILLIAMS did pay the sum of £8, 15 Shillings in full of the purchase money for 350 acres as by Entry takers certificate

[Deed Book 10; pg. 12-13] Aug. 27, 1807 - I Caleb ETHERIDGE Sheriff by Writ of Venditiane issued out of the Superior Court directing me of the goods, chattles & lands of John WILLIAMS, John HUMPHRIES & William NEAVILL to cause the sum of £1619, 13 Shillings & 4 Pence which Alexander MILLER recovered against them also the sum of £23 & 6 Shillings for damages for reason of detention of debt. In obedience I took into possession a tract of land whereon John HUMPHRIES then lived at Indian Town. Beginning near the Academy down the road to opposite corner of Samuel WILLIAMS yard containing 196 1/3 acres. After legal notice said land was offered for sale where & when Thomas Cooper FEREBEE appeared & bid the sum of £2, 15 Shillings & 6 Pence & was best bidder. I Caleb ETHERIDGE by virtue of Writ & the sum of £545, 4 Shillings paid to me by Thomas Cooper FEREBEE I have granted & conveyed the land unto him. Witness: S. FEREBEE; Registered Jan. 10, 1809

[Deed Book 10; pg. 21-22] Nov. 13, 1807 - Solomon CHAPLEN & John CHAPLEN are held & firmly bound unto Silas ETHERIDGE of Roanoak Island in the just sum of $1000. The condition of this obligation is such that Solomon CHAPLEN hath sold to Silas ETHERIDGE a tract of land known by name of Pig Point containing 50 acres. I am to pay this money yearly or give him a note with approved Curity or lees [lease] is voided.  I Elexander POOL am to find the orphan a sufficient board & cloathing that the land belongs to & give the orphan 1 years schooling except the orphan goes out to the wastard along with his Brother. [Deed Book 10; pg. 23-24] Nov. 28, 1808 - Mary WILLIAMS to Mathias BELL - Whereas Elias WILLIAMS of Knots Island departed this life some time past leaving a last will & testament making William WILLIAMS his Executor & whereas I am entitled to a chear of the crop as one of his Daughters. For the confidence which I have toward Matthias BELL, & I unable to attend Courts or troubles with management of the affair, I do appoint Matthias BELL as my lawful attorney to act & receive of & from William WILLIAMS the Exec. in my place.  Registered Jan. 20, 1809

[Deed Book 10; pg. 26-27]  Mar. 2, 1807 - We Willoughby WHITE & Caleb ETHERIDGE are held & firmly bound unto Elias DAVIS in the just sum of £21. The condition of the obligation is such that Willoughby WHITE hath prayed an attachment against the estate of Elias DAVIS for the sum of £10 10 Shillings hath obtained the same returnable to some Justices of this County, now if WHITE doth prosecute the said suite to with effect or in case he fail therein shall well & truly pay to DAVIS all such cost & damages as shall be awarded & recovered against WHITE.  Witness: Willis ETHERIDGE
