Land and marsh in Currituck on Poiney Island beginning at formerly Joseph GRAY's line; running westerly to Joseph TAYLORs "formally" line then southern corse (sic) with said TAYLOR's line to JARVIS line. Assigns land after her decease on Currituck Sound opposite the windmill of Lemuel TAYLOR. Fifty acres. By William HOLLOWAY line; by Robert WILLIAMS Swamp; binding Lemuel TAYLORs line. [Deed Book 10; pg. 25]  William BEST sold to James WALL, 50 acres on the Soundside adjoining Isaac TILLETT's line.  Easterly by a line of marked trees to Avery TILLETT's  line, thence a northerly course to James WALL's line, thence Westerly to the Sound, thence a Southerly course along Sound to the beginning.   Wit: Bowen Green.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 34] Tully ROBERTS (says ROBERTSON on signature line) to Thos. WILLIAMS. Both of Currituck. 15 Nov 1808. Four hundred and fifty silver dollars. Land in Currituck near the Grate (sic) Swamp it being the plantation whereon William MONCREIF formerly lived. by John MIDGET's Swamp Road; THOMSON's line. One hundred acres. /s/ Tully ROBERTSON. [Deed Book 10; pg. 43] Thomas WILLIAMS to James NICHOLSON. 9 Jan 1808. James NICHOLSON for his daughter, Sally BOOTH; of Currituck; $250. Land appears to be bordered by "land of said Thomas". /s/ Thos. WILLIAMS. Witness: James ETHERIDGE. February Term, 1809. Registered, 8 May 1809;

[Deed Book 10; pg. 48] William BRUMSEY, Constable. Leml. TAYLOR, Esq. one of the Justices for the said County of Currituck as the instance of Richard JARVIS & J. NICHOLSON. Caleb MILLER against Jesse PERRY where I was commanded in the following ...Wm. BRUMSEY a lawful officer ... to make of the goods and chattels of Jesse PERRY as will satisfy the within judgment and lawful cost given...said this 25 of Oct 1808 Lamb TAYLOR Seal. One negro woman by the name of Hannah and other property of the said Jesse PERRY. Thirty five dollars and fifty cents was bid by Wm. LUNN for the said Negro woman Hannah. /s/ Will BRUMSEY, Constable. [Deed Book 10; pg. 53] Willoughby MACKHONEY to Edward HOLLOWAY. 30 Jan 1809. Both of Currituck . Negro girl by the name of Sabia. Fifty dollars. /s/ Willouby (x-his mark) MCHONEY. Witness, Lamb TAYLOR. May Term 1809. Proved by the oath of Lemuel TAYLOR in open court . Registered 30 May 1809.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 57-58] Daniel MIDYETT of Chickamacomico Banks in Currituck County sold to Pharoah FARROW of Kinnekeet, for 25 silver dollars, a tract of land on Kennekeet Banks bounded by Roger MEEKINS' south line, Daniel MIDYETT's father's line and the Sound, containing 50 acres.  This indenture was made August 5, 1809.  Wit: Joshua GRAY, Jacob MIDYETT, Ezekial HOOPER.  /s/ Daniel MIDYETT, Banister MIDYETT.  [Banister Midyett was not mentioned in this deed as far as I could tell but did sign it.]

[Deed Book 10; pg. 58-59] Ezekiel HOOPER of Kennekeet in Currituck County sold to William WILLIAMS, JUN'R. of the same place, for 30 silver dollars, a tract of land on Kinnekeet bounded by the land of William MEEKINS, Ezekiel HOOPER and William WILLIAMS, containing 10 acres.  This indenture was made July 31, 1809.  /s/ Ezekiel HOOPER.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 104] Nancy GRAY to Benjamin Taylor GRAY. Deed of gift. Both of Currituck. To Ben T. GRAY an negro boy Adam. /s/ Nancy (x-her mark) GRAY. Witnesses, Hosea BALL, Lemuel BALL. February Term 1810. Registered 7 Apr 1810.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 105] Caleb CAPPS of Currituck to Major WHITEHURST of Princess Ann County, Virginia. 23 Feb 1810. Negro woman named Nance (?) about thirty our years of age and child of about nine months. No sale price apparent in deed. /s/ Caleb CAPPS Witness A. FRAME. February Term 1810. Caleb CAPPS SEN (?). Registered 7 Apr 1810.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 106] Samuel MIDYETT of Tyrrell County sold to Anthony DOUGLAS of Chickamicomico in Currituck County, for 10 pounds, a tract of land on Bodys Island containing 50 acres.  This indenture was made June 15, 1809.  Wit: Jacob MIDYETT, Angelico MIDYETT.  /s/ Samuel MIDYETT.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 106-107] Daniel MIDYETT, planter of Currituck County, sold to David PAINE of Hyde County, for 10 pounds, a tract of land bounded at the seaside on George PUGH's north line, containing 50 acres, "...it being the north end of all of one hundred acres that the said Daniel MIDYETT bought of Francis FARROW."  This indenture was made August 9, 1809.  Wit: Jacob MIDYETT, Sparrow MIDYETT.  /s/ Daniel MIDYETT.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 107] Banister MIDYETT, SEN. of Currituck County sold to Banister MIDYETT, JUN., planter of Currituck County, for 50 pounds, a tract of land on Chickamacomico Banks "...that Daniel MIDYETT sold unto the said Banister MIDYETT, SEN." bounded by the lands of Daniel MIDYETT and the sea beach, containing 50 acres.  This indenture was made October 28, 1805.  Wit: Jeremiah MEEKINS, Daniel MIDYETT, Jacob MIDYETT.  /s/ Banister MIDYETT. Proven: Feb. Term 1810.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 109-110] Solomon MANN and his wife Polly sold to Spencer DANIEL two lots of land on Roanoak Island in Currituck County.  Lot #1 called woodland #6 and Lot #2 called ___land #2 "...with all the appertances & hereiments belonging and right of the Marsh that fell to us by the death of Belcher DANIEL, SEN'R."  This indenture was made February 17, 1810.  Wit: Sally DANIEL, Jesse DANIEL.  /s/ Solomon MANN, Polly MANN.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 110] Samuel MIDYETT and his wife Sally of Tyrrell County sold to Spencer DANIEL of Currituck County, for $20.00, a lot lying on Roanoak Island called woodland lot #9 which fell to us by the death of Belcher DANIEL, SEN'R.  This indenture was made February 30?, 1810.  Wit: Sally DANIEL, Edward MANN.  /s/ Samuel MIDYETT, Sally MIDYETT.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 110-111] Edward MANN and his wife Judah of Tyrrell County sold to Spencer DANIEL of Currituck County, for $20.00, a lot on Roanoak Island called woodland lot #4 which fell to us by the death of Belcher DANIEL, SEN'R.  This indenture was made April 12, 1810.  /s/ Edward MANN, Judah MANN.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 115] James TOLER and Leticha his wife to Jesse TAYLOR. Two hundred dollars. 24 Feb 1810. Land on the south end of Knots Island it being lott ?  from division of the land of Caleb MILLER, decd. fifteen acres. /s/ James TOLER, Aiba(?) (x-her mark) TOLER. February Term 1810. Registered 16 Apr 1810.

[Deed Book 10 pg. 118] Caleb CAPPS to Peter WHITEHURST. Similar transaction follows with same parties, although in one place it seems to read Robert WHITEHURST rather than Peter WHITEHURST.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 120] Nathan PARKER and Elizabeth PARKER to Thos. JARVIS. All of Currituck. Fifty dollars. 27 Sep 1808. Land by E. TAYLOR, said JARVIS. Fifteen acres. Witness, Anthony FRAME, William TAYLOR. /s/ Nathan(x-his mark) PARKER, Elizabeth (x-her mark) PARKER. February Term 1810. Registered 16 Apr 1810.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 122] Godfrey WHITEHURST to Thomas MATTHIAS. 12 Dec 1807. Both of Currituck. Twenty five dollars. Land in Currituck by James EVANS (LEE?) . Three acres. /s/ Godfrey (x-his mark) WHITEHURST. Witness, Ayla (?)FANSHER, Peter (x-his mark) PARKER(?). February Term 1810. Witness, 16 Apr 1810.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 132] Caleb CAPPS and Martha his wife and Peter WHITEHURST and Lydia his wife of Currituck County to William DAWLEY of Princess Ann County, Virginia. Five dollars. Marsh in Currituck County on Deep hole(?) Island being two fifths of twelve acres that Thos. WILLIAMS give his son John WILLIAMS deceased. Witnesses Mary WILLIAMS, Alverta? [Deed Book 10; pg. 135] David JONES to Peter WHITEHURST. 21 Mar 1810. Three hundred dollars. Two negro children Lovey, Ida. /s/ David JONES. Witness, Jas. WILLIAMS. May Term 1810. Registered 3(?) Jul 1810.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 136] Jasper (?) GIPSON to John PRITCHARD. Bill of Sale. 12 Apr 1810. Three hundred twenty five dollars. Two negroes, "a wench and her child". Appear to be named Jack and Gidget. /s/ Jasper GIBSON. Witness, Rich(?) JARVIS. May Term 1810. Subparagraph where his "right and title" assigned forever. Dated 31 May 1810 and witnessed by Jas. NICHOLSON. There is a subsequent paragraph that was registered 1 Aug 1810 and also witnessed by Jas. NICHOLSON.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 146] James SIMMONS to Jonathan LINDSEY. Three hudnred twenty silver dollars. Both of Currituck. Land that was bequeathed by Lemuel SIMMONS dec to my father John SIMMONS dec. was laid off and ...and bounded by William LINDSAY, and one other person whose name cannot be made out clearly (Jaymes SHANNON??). /s/ James (x-his mark) SIMMONS. Witnessed, George HARRISON, Benjamin TAYLOR. May Term 1810. Registered 13 Aug 1810.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 151] Jesse TAYLOR to William BONNEY. 1 May 1810. Bill of Sale from Jesse TAYLOR of Currituck to William BONNEY (?) of Princess Anne County, Virginia. $162. Land on Knotts Island. Bordered by Henry WHITE, deceased and Jonathan COX. /s/ Jesse TAYLOR. Witnesses, Malachi JONES and Anth. FRANCE(?). May Term 1810.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 154] James COWELL to David JONES. Both of Currituck. 3(?) May 1810. One hundred fifty dollars. Swamp land in Currituck. Part of a patent granted by the State of North Carolina on 30 Nov 1809. /s/ James COWEL Witness, S. FEREBEE. May Term 1810. Registered 17 Aug 1810.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 170] Hollowell THOMPSON to David JONES. Both of Currituck. 29 Jul 1810. Seventy dollars cash. Land in Currtituck given by my uncle Evan THOMPSON to my brother Evan THOMPSON reserving  the lifetime of his wife(?) Mary THOMPSON. /s/ Hollowell (x-his mark) THOMPSON. Witness, Mary THOMSON. August Term 1810. Registered 24 Jul 1810. Following transaction Dennis THOMPSON to David JONES. Bordered lands of Thos. MERCER.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 173] William TAYLOR and Sarah his wife and Jacob WATERFIELD and Amy his wife to Jesse TAYLOR. May (no day listed 1810. One hundred dollars. Land in the south end of Knots Island. Five acres. Formerly belonged to Caleb WHITE. /s/ William TAYLOR Sarah (x-her mark) TAYLOR Jacob WATERFIELD Amy (x-her mark) WATERFIELD. Witness, Anthony FRAME. Registered, 28 Aug 1810. There was a second transaction involving the same parties.

[Deed Book 10; pg. 179] James COWELL. Fifty shillings for every hundred acres. One hundred acres in Currituck near (?) Bridge. /s/ David MORSE, Will WHITE, Sec. 14 Nov 1810.
