Currituck Co. Will Book 2, pp. 44-45

In the name of God Amen, I Lydia CREEF, of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being weak of body but of sound mind and memory, do make this my Last Will and Testament in form and manner following viz. Item I will and bequeath the land and improvements whereon I now live to be rented out to the best advantage for the use and benefit of my three children John, Julia and Lydia CREEF and the profits to be equally divided among said three children for ther clothing and education, untill the oldest arrives to the age of sixteen years and then the profits to be divided between the other two till ye second comes to the age of sixteen, then ye other to have the whole profits till she arrives to the age of sixteen, but should either of the above named children die under the of sixteen then the other or others to have the benefit of the above land and improvements as above.

Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Ester FLETCHER my best bed, bedstead and furniture and three home spun gowns, forever likewise 5 sitting chairs-----

Item I give and bequeath to my John CREEF the land and improvements whereon I now live to him and his heirs forever, but should he die without lawfull issue begotten of his body then the said land to be equally among my three Daughters Ester, Lydia, and Julia and their heirs forever or the survers of them and their heirs forever.

Item the remainder of my estate within and without doors to be sold and the sum arrising from the sale to be applyd to the clothing and educating my three children John, Lydia and Julia in the same manner as the profits of the land but should either of them die then the other or others to have the benefit of sd sale.

I do nominate constitute and appoint my trusty friend Edward BUNNIEL my whole and sole executor to this my Last Will and Testament in testamony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal.
