Monday, February 23, 1818
    Ordered that Daniel Lindsey, Caleb Forbes, Spence Hall & Spence H. Gregory audit & settle the accounts of James Melson as Exor. of Bowen Green dec'd. with said dec'd Estate & make Report.
    Ordered that Daniel Lindsey, Junr. be appointed Guardian to Elizabeth and Asa Weskitt orphan of Stephen Weskitt, dec'd. in the room & stead of John Greaves the late Guard. Resigned who entered into bond with Caleb Sanderson & Samuel Salyear, Junr. securities in the sum of $800 for Asa & $80 for Elizabeth
    Ordered that Caleb Sanderson have the right of admr. on the Estate of Jesse Sanderson dec'd. his son who qualified as such & entered into bond with Daniel Lindsey & James Melson securities in the sum of  £200.
    Ordered that Daniel Lindsey Junr. be appointed Guard. to Nathan Hall & Polly Hall orphans of Jehu Hall dec'd. who entered into bond with Caleb Sanderson & Spence H. Gregory securities in the sum of $2,400 dollars for each orphan.

Tuesday, February 24, 1818
    Polly Woodhouse widow of Wilson Woodhouse came into open court & person & discented from the Last will & Testament of the Late Husband Wilson Woodhouse dec'd. and claimed Dower under the act of assembly in such cases made.
    Julia Harrison Guardian of Zoro. Harrison orphan being cited to Court to make report of her wards Estate for Cause shown On motion of J.M. Gatlin ____ Cur let the report be deferred until May Term next.
    Ordered that Mava Dough have right to keep an ordinary at her own dwelling house for the preceding year who entered into bond with Daniel Lindsey Junr. & Spence Hall securities in the sum of £100.
    Ordered that Thos. Poyner, Wm. Gray, Jesse Sawyer and Caleb Forbes or any 3 of them audit & settle the accts. of Caleb Tolor as Exor. of James Tolor, dec'd. with said dec'd. estate & a copy of a/c of sale & Invt. for Caleb Tolar.
    Ordered that Jeremiah Sawyer be appointed Guard. to his own son James Sawyer who entered into bond with Joseph Sawyer & Charles Sawyer securities in the sum of $700.

    Ordered Jeremiah Gordon (14 or 15), son of Sarah Gordon, bound to Daniel Lindsey.
    Ordered Jesse Gordon, formally bound to Thomas B. Jarvis who has been sold by the said Jarvis to John Heath who has obtained his indentures contrary to an act of assembly, removed from Jarvis and indentured to Samuel Salyer to learn the trade of blacksmith.
    Ordered Affey Bowser, mulatto daughter of Sally Bowser, formerly bound to Benjamin Dough and Louis Bowser, daughter of Sally Bowser, bound to Enoch Forbes to learn the art of a spinster.
    Ordered Caroline Bowser, mulatto girl formerly bound to Robert Smith, bound to Enoch Forbes to learn a women’s employment.

Thursday, February 26, 1818
   
On motion of _______ Marten on behalf of Jesse Sawyer Guardian of Jesse & Lydia Snow son & daughter of Wm. Snow who resigned his said Guardianship in favor of Daniel Lindsey, Junr.
    Ordered that Daniel Lindsey Junr. be appointed Guardian to Jesse & Lydia Snow Son & Daughter of Wm. Snow who entered into bond with Spence Hill & Zebulon Kemp securities in the sum of £200 or each orphan.
    Ordered that Wm Etheridge be appointed overseer of the Public Road from the Indian Town to the _ound they formally work for the present year in the room & stead of Wm. Dozier the late overseer resigned.
    Ordered that Thomas Tillett be appointed overseer of the public Road on the West Banks from the Kill Devil Hill to Naggs Head for the present year & that he act thereon according to Law.
    Ordered that Jesse Sawyer be appointed overseer of the public Road on Powells Point from Jonathan Lindseys Gate to Richard Doughs Gate for the present year & that he act therein according to Law.
    Ordered that Benjamin Evans, Senr. be appointed overseer of the public road on Powells Point from Richard Doughs Gate to the end of the Point for the present year & that he act therein according to law.
    Ordered that Lydia Parker be allowed the sum of £12 for the 3rd year maintenance of a bastard child begotten on her body by James Simmons to be paid in equal quarterly payments by the said James Simons.
    Ordered that Thomas Poyner, Spence Hall, Spence H. Gregory and Caleb Forbes or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c &c of Solomon Chaplin as former Guardian to Marriah & Harriet Toler orphans of Mathias Tolor dec'd with Daniel Lindsey Junr. the present Guard. of said orphans & make report thereof to next court.
    On hearing the Petition of Elizabeth Kemp _____ing for a years provision.
    Ordered that Jonathan Lindsey Esq., Wm. Gray, Thomas _rotten & Daniel Sanderson be appointed commissioners to lay off allott & set apart unto Elizabeth Kemp widow of Jonathan Kemp dec'd. so much of the Crop Stock & provisions of the said dec'd as shall be sufficient for the maintenance of said widow & family for one year under an act of assembly in such.
    Ordered that a Jury set apart unto Polly Woodhouse widow of Wilson Woodhouse dec'd the . . . . share & powers of the Personal Estate of said dec'd on the petition praying being exhibited.
    Ordered that Thomas Douglas & Mary Pain Guard. [guardian] &c advertise & sell on a credit of six months a negro man slave by the name of Pete which  _______ between Thomas Douglas & the orphans of (blank) Paine dec'd in order for a division among the legal representatives of the said dec'd. & make report thereof to next court on Pet. & Prayers of Thos. Douglas & Mary Pain Guardian being exhibited & read.
    Ordered that Mary Pain Guard. [guardian] to Elizabeth, Bethany, Warner, Polly, Sally, and Peggy Pain advertise & sell at public venue the perishable property of Saunders Pain, Dec'd. in order for division among the legal representatives of the said Saunders Paine dec'd. on a credit of Six months & make report thereof to next court.
    Ordered that Demcy Northern Guardian of Ephraim Balance advertise & sell on a credit of 6 months the negroes belonging to the Estate of Wm. Wilson senr. dec'd. the slaves by the names of Selah, Abbey, Jersey, Ale__, ____ancy, and Bridgett in order for an equal division among his lawful representatives of the said dec'd. & that they make report thereof to next term.

    Ordered that Thomas Sanderson, Jesse Barnard, Daniel Lindsey and Saml. Salyear Junr. or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of Wm. B. Etheridge as admr of the Estate of Nathan Etheridge dec'd. with said dec'd Estate & make report there to next court &c Copies of a/c an Invt. of Nathan Etheridge for Wm. B. Etheridge.
    Ordered that Thomas Jarvis renew his bond as a Constable in the Powells Point district for the present year who entered into bond with Charles Griggs & Thomas Lindsey securities in the sum of £500.
    Ordered that Wm. Doxey orphan of Wm. Doxey dec'd. be placed & bound as an apprentice to Charles Griggs until be arrives to the age of 21 years he being now about 13 years of age.
    Ordered that Andrew Lee orphan of Robert Lee dec'd. be placed & bound as an apprentice to John Gooden until he is 21 years.
    Ordered that Thomas Poyner, Thos. Sanderson, Wm. Caffee & Jesse Barnard or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of Charles Griggs as adm. of Thomas (blank) dec'd with said dec'd. Estate & make report thereof to next court.
    It is ordered that Jeremiah Stow be allowed the sum of $26 for keeping & maintaining a certain child Sarah Williams orphan of William Williams dec'd. to be allowed & paid him out of the said Estate by Pharoah Farrow his Exor. & that this be a voucher in the settlement of his a/c with said Estate.
    Ordered that A_dey Sanderlin child of (blank) Sanderlin be placed & bound unto Thomas White Junr. & Sally his wife as an apprentice she being now near 13 years of age &c and at the same time the said Thomas White Junr. entered into bond with Jesse Sawyer & James Melson securities in the sum of £500.
    The Last Will & Testament of Thomas Best dec'd. was established in open court & proved by the oath of Pharroah Farrow one of the subscribing witnesses thereto at the same time Ann Best Exor. therein named qualified thereto.
    Ordered that Bannister Midgett, Joseph Frances, Ezekiel Hooper & Stephen Gray or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of Pharoah Farrow Exor. of Christopher ONeal dec'd with said dec'd Estate & make report there to next court.
    Ordered that the same men audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of Pharroah Farrow as Exor. of the Last Will & Testament of Wm. Williams with said dec'd Estate.
    Ordered that Nathan ONeal be appointed Guardian to Alfred ONeal orphan of Christopher ONeal dec'd who entered into bond with Pharoah Farrow & Bannister Midgett securities in the sum of $2000.
    Ordered that Pharoah Farrow, Joseph Farrow, Lott Farrow & Enoch Miller or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c of Angelico Barnard as admr. of John Barnard dec'd. with said dec'd. Estate.

    Ordered that Lot Farrow have the right of admr. on the Estate of Frances Farrow dec'd. who Qualified as such & entered into bond with John Clark & P. Farrow securities in the sum of $1200.
    Ordered that Thomas Scarborough orphan of George Scarborough dec'd be placed & bound as an apprentice unto John Farrow until he arrives to the age of 21 years he being now about 12 years of age the said master John Farrow to give the said Thos. Scarborough 12 months schooling.
    Ordered that John E. Burroughs be appointed Guard. to Wilson & Kadar Ballentine orphans of Joseph Ballentine Junr. dec'd. who entered into bond with Josiah Joliff & Willis B. Ballentine securities in the sum of £ 400 for each orphan.
    Ordered that Spence Hall have the right of admr. on the Estate of Saml. Etheridge dec'd. who qualified as such & entered into bond with Daniel Lindsey Junr. & Caleb Forbes securities in the sum of £200.  At the same time James Etheridge Guardian of the said Samuel Etheridge relinquished his right of admr. to Spence Hall Esqr.
    Ordered that Enoch Miller have leave to make Report to Aug. term next as Guard of Wm. G. Miller & Lovie Miller orphans of Wm. Miller, dec'd.
    Ordered that James Bell have the right of adm. on the Estate of Wm. Parr dec'd. who entered into bond with Caleb Ives & Philip Dozier securities in the sum of £200 at the same time Winiford Parr widow of the said dec'd. relinquish her right of admr. to James Bell.
    The Last Will & Testament of George Howard dec'd was exhibited in open court & proved by the oath of Ephraim William one of the subscribing witnesses thereto at the same time Hosea Bell Exor. therein named Qualified as such.
    Ordered that Thomas C. Casey one of the original Jurors this term be discharged on account of the Indisposition of his family.
    Ordered that Jesse Sawyer have leave to keep an ordinary at his now dwelling house for the present year who entered into bond with Thos. White Junr. and Caleb Forbes securities in the sum of £100.
    Ordered that Caleb Forbes be appointed Guardian to Joel, William, and Olive Green orphans of Bowen Green dec'd. who entered into bond with Spence Hall & Jesse Sawyer securities in the sum of £ 500 for each orphan.
    Ordered that Thomas Bray & Dennis Simmons Esqr. of Rhoda Davis wife of James Davis on a deed of conveyance by them made to Mason Culpepper.
    Ordered that Willis Gallop renew his bond for the present year as a commissioner of wrecks having _______ a commission from his Excelancy John Branch authorizing him as a commissioner of wrecks in and for the said County who entered into bond with Farrow Farrow securities in the sum of £7000.

 Ordered that Nathan Robinson be appointed Guard. to Polly Walker orphan of Edward Walker dec'd. agreeable to her own choice in the room & stead of Jas. Chaplin her late Guardian who entered into bond with Joseph Simmons & Wm. Cowell securities in the sum of £1000.
 Ordered that John Forbes have leave to keep an ordinary at his now dwelling house for the present year who entered into bond with Thos. Williams & Isaac Baxter securities in the sum of £100
 Ordered that Elizabeth Jarvis be appointed Guard. to Ivey, Polly, Saml., Abel, Richard and Lydia Jarvis orphans of Saml. Jarvis dec'd who entered into bond with Solomon Ashbee & Thos. Williams securities in the sum of £1000 for each orphan.
 Ordered that Thomas Bray & Anthony Simmons Esqr. take the private examination of Betsey Stone wife of William Stone & Elizabeth Whitehurst wife of Daniel Whitehurst concerning her _____ consent in executing a deed of conveyance made by them to Dennis Simmons & report thereof to next term.
 Ordered that Penelope Banks orphan of (blank) Banks dec'd be placed & bound to Charles Perkins until she arrives to the age of 18 years she being supposed to be 8 years of age being not known, to learn a womans employment.
 Ordered that Dennis Dozier sen. Guard. of James Doziers orphans.  Jesse, Betsey & L_asa Dozier have until the next term to make his Guardian Report under an act of the General Assembly.
 On motion of Leonard Martin Esqr.  It is ordered that Henry Ballentine orphan of Henry Ballentine dec'd. who were bound by the Court to Samuel Mercer, of Camden County and on Representation that the said apprentice is neglected and is not properly attended too as an apprentice &c.  It is ordered that the said Ballentine be henceforth discharged & released from the service of the said Saml. Mercer & that his securities.

    Ordered that Jesse Barnard be appointed Guard. to Barnard Taylor & Wilson Taylor orphans of Edward Taylor who entered into bond with Saml. Salyear and Willo. D. Barnard securities in the sum of £2000 for each orphan.
    Ordered that Arthur Northern have the right of adm. on the Estate of James Northern dec'd. who entered into bond with Demcy Northern & Caleb Wilson securities in the sum of £500.
    Ordered that Demcy Lee have the right of admr. on the Estate of Lettisha Lee dec'd. who Qualified as such & entered into bond with Joseph Sawyer & James Lee securities in the sum of £100.

Thursday, May 28, 1818
    Ordered that Huldah White be allowed the sum of $44 against the Estate of Peter Hutchings dec'd. & his securities Wallis Hutchings & Griffith Gregory for the present years maintenance of an illegitimate child by the name of Tillman White begotten on her body by Peter Hutchings dec'd.
>     Ordered that Malissa Luton be allowed the sum of $24. for the first years keeping & maintenance of a bastard child begotten on her body by Thomas Davis to be paid in equal Quarterly payments by the said Thos. Davis.
    Ordered that Nancy Etheridge be allowed the sum of $20. for the 2d years keeping & maintaining a bastard child begotten on her body by Saml. Powers to be paid in equal Quarterly payments by the said Powers.
    Ordered that Sally Best be allowed the sum of £24. for the first years Keeping & maintaining of a bastard child begotten on her body by Stephen Beasley to be paid in equal Quarterly payments by the said Beasley.
    Ordered that Mary Etheridge also Mary McPherson be allowed the sum of £ __ for the 3d years maintenance of a bastard child begotten on her body by Nicholas allison & that the sum be paid in equal Quarterly payments.
    Ordered that John Shipp, Wm. W. Read, Thomas Baxter be appointed & continued commissioners together with the County Surveyor to divide the Real Estate of Spence West dec'd. among his legal representatives & make report thereof to next Term.
    Ordered that Elizabeth Gregory be allowed the sum of $7 for maintenance &c of Betsy, Poly & Jane Gregory orphans of Mitchel Gregory dec'd. & that Cartwright Bell Guardian of the said orphans pay the same & that this order ____ voucher to charge his ward & that he charge them in proportion to the a/c exhibited &c Betsey $2, Polly $2 & Jane $3.
    Ordered that Lydia Parker be allowed the sum of $24 for the maintenance of a bastard child begotten on her body Enoch Dozier in the stead of James Simmons being the 3rd years maintenance of the said child be paid in equal Quarterly payments by the said Enoch Dozier.
    Ordered that Brickhouse Bell, Mitchel Simmons, Saml. Williams and Saml. Etheridge or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of Saml. Ferebee as Exor. of Jacob Perkins dec'd. who was admr or Ryland Fancher dec'd. with said Estate & make report.
    Ordered that Charles Griggs be allowed the sum of $72. for keeping & maintaining Jarves Griggs orphan of Thomas Griggs dec'd. from May term 1816 until Mary term 1818 two years according to his a/c  ____dered on oath & that this order be a voucher for the Griggs in ______ his a/c.

Monday, August 31, 1818
    The Last will and Testament of Nathaniel Quidley dec'd was exhibited in open court & proved by the oath of Edmund Daily & Samuel Stow subscribing witnesses thereto at the same time.
    Ordered that John Chaplin be & have liberty to keep an ordinary at his new dwelling house who entered into bond with Caleb Tolor & Wm. White Senr. securities in the sum of  £100.
    Ordered that Ezekiel Best orphan of Thomas Best dec'd. be placed & bound as an apprentice to Abraham Farrow until be arrived to the age of 21 years he being now about 13 years or there about to learn a . . .
    Ordered that John F. Peel orphan of Christopher Peel dec'd. be placed & bound an apprentice to Enoch Miller until be arrives to the age of 21 years he being now about 14 years to learn the art of a cordwinder & that said Miller give the said apprentice 12 months schooling.
    Ordered that Jacob Farrow orphan of Frances Farrow senr dec'd. be placed & bound an apprentice to Joseph Morgan until he arrives to the age of 21 years he being now Eleven years of age the 6th of April last past to learn the art of a waterman & that the said Joseph Morgan is to give the said apprentice 15 months schooling.
    The last will & Testament of Wm. Hunning dec'd was exhibited in open court & proved by the oath of Thomas Whitehall one of the subscribing witnesses thereto at the same time Thomas Sanderson sen'r. Exor. therein named qualified.
    Ordered that James Henry be allowed the sum of $30 for keeping an maintenance of Mary Halstead orphan of Wm. Halstead dec'd. as per a/c vouchers & filed.
    Ordered that Alfred Farrow orphan of Frances Farrow dec'd be placed & bound as an apprentice to Wm. Farrow until be arrives to the age of 21 years he being now about 15 years to learn the art of a ship carpenter.

Tuesday, September 1, 1818
    Ordered the right of adm. on the Estate of Joseph Gray Esqr. dec'd. be granted to Peggy Gray widow of the said dec'd. who gave bond in the sum of £100 with Saml. Salyear Junr. Esqr., Thomas Simmons Junr., Daniel Lindsey senr. Michael O'Neal & Thos William securities.
    Ordered that Affey Bowser a mullato girl daughter of Sally Bowser & formerly being an apprentice to Banjamine Dough Esqr. dec'd. and Lovie Bowser a daughter of the said Sally now be placed & bound to Enoch Forbes until they arrive to the age of 21 yrs. to learn a womans employment & spinster.
    Ordered that Caroline Bowser a mullato girl daughter formally found to Robert W. Smith be bound as an apprentice to Enoch Forbes until she arrives to the age of 21 years to learn a womans Employment & spinster.
    The last will & Testament of Willo. Dozier dec'd was exhibited in open court & proved by the oath of Gideon C. Marchant & Joel Creekmeer subscribing witness at the same time Dennis Dozier and Joseph Dozier Excor. therein named Qualified.
    Ordered that Willis B. Ballentine be appointed Guard. to John Mc ___ster Douglas orphan of Demcy Douglas dec'd who entered into bond with Caleb Wilson & Augustus Linton securities in the sum of £100
    Ordered that Joseph Sawyer renew his constable bond for the present year who entered into bond with Charles Sawyer & Jeremiah Sawyer securities in the sum of £500.
    Ordered that Frederick Dough be appointed Guardian to Luke, S__phen, Caleb, Thomas, Samuel Brown orphans of Thos. Brown dec'd who entered into bond with Thos. Tillett and Wm. Dough securities in the sum of £100 for each orphan.
    Ordered that Thos. C. Ferebee be appointed Guard. to John Humphries orphan of John Humphries dec'd according to his own choice and likewise Chloe orphan of said John Humphries dec'd who entered into bond with Mitchael Simmons senr. & Isaac Baxter securities in the sum of £ 200 for each.
    Ordered that Saml. Ferebee senr. be appointed Guardian to William Humphries orphan of John Humphries dec'd agreeable to his own choice who entered into bond with Samuel Ferebee Junr. & Thomas C. Ferebee securities in the sum of £2000.

Wednesday, September 2d, 1818
    Ordered that Tully Dozier senr. have the right of adm. on the Estate of Thos Williams dec'd. orphan of Christopher Williams dec'd. who Qualified as such & entered into bond with Dennis Dozier senr.. & Samuel Williams securities in the sum of £100.
    Ordered that Thomas Stephens orphan of Benjamin Stephens dec'd who were formally bond unto Jas. Parker be placed & bound unto John Gray until he arrives to the age of 21 years he being now about 14 years of age to learn the art & trade of a Black Smith.
    Ordered that Willo Barns son of Mary Barns now Mary Jones be placed & bound an apprentice to Joshua Baxter until he arrives to the age of 21 years he being now about 12 years of age to the House Carpenter trade.
    On motion let the prisoner Joseph Quidly be released from his imprisonment of 20 days sentence of the court on Bill of Indictment prosecute ___________ by Charles Closter on ________ his paying ___ costs
    Ordered that Fredrick Dough Guardian of Thos. Brown dec'd. orphan advertise & sell on a credit of six months all the perishable Estate late property of Thomas Brown dec'd. orphan which were given them by Elizabeth Brown by deed of Gift from Elizer Brown now the wife of Wm. Snow & make report thereof to next court.

    Ordered that Caleb Etheridge have the Right of adm. on the Estate of Nancy Young Husband dec'd. who Qualified as such & entered into bond with Saml. Thomson & Thomas Hutchings securities in the sum of £200..
    Ordered that Caleb Etheridge have the Right of adm. on the Estate of Bartlett Burton dec'd. who Qualified as such & entered into bond with Saml. Thompson & Saml. Salyear Junr. securities in the sum of £100.
    Ordered that Lemuel Gregory orphan of Mary Gregory dec'd. be placed & bound unto Joseph Ferebee until he arrived to the age of 21 years he being now about 5 years of age to learn a farmers business..
    Came into open court Wm. Marchant orphan of Thos. Marchant dec'd. and chose Kader T. Marchant his guardian in the room & stead of James D. Mosely his Guardian and pray the same be recognized by the Court and that Kadar T. Marchant appear at next term & enter into bond with approved security.
    Ordered that Thomas B. Jarvis be appointed overseer of the public road for the present year on the Ridge & part of the Laurel Swamp road in the room & stead of Spence O'Neal the late overseer resigned and that he act therein according to Law.
    Ordered that Lattimer Wilson be appointed overseer of the public road in Moyock district from the Salt (?) Bridge to the Virginia Line for the present year in the room & stead of Thos. C. Casey the late overseer resigned & that he act there according to Law.
    On hearing the Pet. of Jacob Aydelott adm. in Right of his wife Mary who were the admr. of Thomas Mercer Junr. dec'd.  It is ordered that Jacob Aydelott accounts in Right of his wife Mary advertise & sell on a credit of six months as many of the negroes of the said Thomas Mercer dec'd. as shall be sufficient to pay the outstanding debts remaining unpaid of the said dec'd. first giving notice according to Law & make report thereof according to Law.
    On hearing the Pet. of Peggy Gray praying years provision &c out of the Estate of her late husband Joseph Gray dec'd.
    Ordered that David Lindsey Esqr., Saml. Salyear, Junr. Esqr, Jesse Barnard & Colo. Thos. Poyner be appointed commissioners to lay off allot & set apart unto Peggy Gray widow of Joseph Gray dec'd. so much of the crops & stock & provisions said widow & family under & act . . . .
    Ordered that Malachi Jones, James Whitehurst, John B. Jones and Andrew Capps or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c of Elizabeth Ancell as admr. on the Estate of John Ancill dec'd of Virginia.
    Ordered that Thos. Poyner, Daniel Lindsey Junr. & Thos Sanderson divide the Estate of Jesse Sanderson dec'd. son of Caleb Sanderson a legacy left the said Jesse Sanderson dec'd. by Thomas Sanderson Junr. dec'd. and that they make dec'd. report thereof to next court.

Monday, November 30, 1818
    Ordered that Thomas Baxter, Brickhouse Bell, Mathias Bell and Samuel Thompson or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of Andrew Bray as Exor. of the Last Will & [Testament] of John Gerrel dec'd. with said dec'd. Estate & make report thereof to next court.
     Ordered that Stephen Gaylord be appointed overseer of the Public road on Roanoke Island for the present year from the North End to the Rudy Branch on said Island and that he act therein according to Law.
The Last will & Testament of Josias Nicholson dec'd. was exhibited in open court & proved by the oath of Dory Dozier one of the subscribing witnesses thereto at the same time Francis Nicholson Executrix therein named Qualified thereto.

Tuesday, December 1, 1818
    The Last will & Testament of Josiah Dowdy Jr., dec'd was exhibited in open court & proved by the oath of Thomas Poyner Esqr one of the subscribing witnesses thereto at the same time Thomas Poyner Esqr. therein named Qualified as such.
    Ordered that John Lamb Phillip [clerk apparently left out his last name] John Chittum & Edmund S. Dozier or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of James Bell as adm. of William Parr dec'd with said dec'd. Estate & make report thereof to next court.
    Ordered that Caleb Etheridge, Doxy Dozier and John W. Hughs and Lemuel Taylor or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of Caleb Tatum as Exor. of the Last will & Testament of George Poyner dec'd. with said dec'd. Estate & make report thereof to next court.
    Ordered that Zenas Wicks have leave to keep an ordinary at his now dwelling house for the present year who entered into bond with John Chittum and Samuel Wilkins securities in the sum of £100.
    Ordered that Mathias Bell, Thomas Baxter, Caleb Etheridge & John W. Hughs or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of Hose Ball Excor. of George Howard dec'd former Guardian to Polly Walker orphan of Edward Walker dec'd. with Nathan Robinson as the present Guardian of said ____  & say which balance is due from George Howard's Estate to the said Polly Walker & make report thereof to next court.
    Ordered that Joseph Ferebee, Samuel Ferebee Senr., James Etheridge and Jos. W. Powers or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of Michael Simmons senr. Excor. of the Last will & Testament of Branson Bell with said dec'd. Estate & make report thereof to next court.
    Ordered that Thomas Poyner, Daniel Lindsey, Spence H. Gregory & Thomas Jarves Junr. or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of Benjamin Parker as admr. of the Estate of Caleb Simpson dec'd. with said dec'd. Estate & make report thereof to next court.
    Ordered that Phenias Sanborn, Thomas Luffman, Josiah Jolliff and Demcy Northern or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c and vouchers of Thomas C. Casey as Exor. of the Last will & Testament of Demcy Casey dec'd. with said dec'd. Estate & make report thereof to next Term.

Wednesday, December 2d, 1818
    Ordered that Jessee Gordon a Mulatto Boy child of Clark Gordon about 11 years old which were bound last term to Samuel Salyear Junr. be placed & bound an apprentice to John Heath until be arrives to the age of 21 years & that the Indenture of the said boy to Samuel Salyear Junr. be ______ & made void and said Heath to teach said apprentice the farming business.
    At the same time John Heath entered into bond with Wm. White and Benjamin Parker securities in the sum of £500.
    Ordered that Samuel Cooper orphan of Willo Cooper about or near 11 years be placed & bound an apprentice to Wm. White Junr. until he arrives to the age of 21 years to learn the farming business & that the said Samuel Cooper give the said apprentice 6 months schooling.
    Ordered that Jeremiah Perkins be allowed the Sum of $60.00 for keeping & maintaining Jesse Lee orphan of Philip Lee one year up to Nov Term 1818 and that David Jones admr. of Elizabeth Lee pay the same and thus this order be a voucher for his in settlement of said dec'd Estate for distribution aper.(?) account rendered & allowed.
    Ordered that Phineas Sanborne, Thomas Luffman, Josiah Joliff and Demcy Northern or any 3 of them audit & settle the a/c & vouchers of Thos. C. Casey as Exor. of the Last will & Testament of Demcy Casey dec'd. with said dec'd. Estate & make report thereof to next court. [appears to be a repeat of an order from Dec. 1, 1818]
    Ordered that Jesse Camp orphan of Wm. Camp dec'd. about 9 years of age be placed & bound an apprentice to Robert Duke until he arrived tot he age of 21 years to learn the art of a farmer & to give him schooling .
    Ordered that commission _______ to Josiah Jolliff Esqr. to take the private examination of Elizabeth Hodges wife of Edward Hodges on a deed of  conveyance made by them to Sarah Bright.
    Ordered that Samuel Thompson be appointed Guardian to Polly Bell orphan of Robert Bell dec'd. who entered into bond with Wm. Bray senr. and Jeremiah Perkins securities in the sum of £1000.
    Ordered that Thomas Sanderson be appointed Guardian to Joseph, Thomas & Peggy Gray orphans of Jos. Gray dec'd. who entered into bond with Thomas Williams and Jesse Barnard securities in the sum of £100 each.
    Ordered that John B. Jones, Saml. Etheridge, Andrew Capps senr., Wm. Smith & Henry Beasley be appointed commissioners together with the County Surveyor to go on the premises of James Scudlock dec'd. & make division in said dec'd. Lands.  Also that a Jury of good & lawful men unconnected either by affinity or consanguinity &c Lay off Frances Scudlock widow of James Scudlock and her Right of Dower in the said dec'd Lands.
    Ordered that Thomas Williams, Hosea Ball, Enoch Ball, John Forbes and Isaac Baxter be appointed commissioners together with the County Surveyor to go on the premises of John Stephens late dec'd & make division among his heirs at Law & make report thereof under your hands & seals.
    Ordered that Mitchael Simmons adm. with the will annexed of John Stephens dec'd advertise & sell on a credit of 6 months one half of a negro girl late the property of John Stephens dec'd. in order for division among the heirs at Law of said dec'd. & make report thereof under your hands & seals of such a/c to next term.
    Ordered that Thomas C. Ferebee, Mitchael Simmons senr., Samuel Williams and Saml. Etheridge be appointed commissioners together with the County Surveyor to go on the premises Late Willoughby Dozier dec'd. & make division among the said dec'd. Heirs at Law & make report thereof to next court under your hands and seals.
    Ordered that Benja. Parker, Jesse Sawyer & Jacob Aydelott, Thomas White and Jonathan Lindsey be appointed commissioners together with the County Surveyor to go on the premises late Benjamin Norris dec'd. and make division among his legal Heirs & make report thereof to next court.

Thursday, December 3d, 1818
    Ordered that Frances Snowden be appointed Guardian to Nancy Poyner orphan of Wm. Poyner dec'd. agreeable to her own choice who entered into bond with Michael Simmons and Wm. Dough securities in the sum £100.
    Ordered that Demcy Northern have the right of adm. on the Estate of Arthur Northern dec'd. who qualified as such and entered into bond Caleb Wilson & Dony Bright securities in the sum of £3000.
    Ordered that admr. on the Estate of Arthur Morse Northern dec'd. sell.
    Ordered that Josiah Jolliff Esqr., Caleb Wilson, John Cox and Phillip Northern be appointed commissions to lay off allot & set apart unto Fanny Northern widow of Arthur Northern dec'd. so much of the crop stock & provision which were of the said dec'd. as shall be sufficient for the maintenance of said widow & family for one year under an act of General Assembly in such cases made & provided & make report thereof to next court under your hands and seals.
    Ordered that James Henrick (?) be allowed the sum of $37.50 for keeping & boarding Wm. C. Halstead orphan of Wm. Halstead dec'd. one year & Three month for the year 1817 and that sum be allowed him in settlement of the Estate of the said Wm. Halstead dec'd. & that former be made void.
    On hearing the Petition of Lydia Bray widow praying &c &c  Ordered that Michael Simmons senr., Thomas C. Ferebee, Samuel Williams and Jeremiah Land be appointed commissioners to Lay off allott & set apart unto Lydia Bray widow of Thomas Bray dec'd so much of the stock crop & provision which were of the said dec'd shall be sufficient for the maintenance of said widow & family for one year under an act of assembly in such cases made & provided &c & make due report thereof to next court under your hands & seals.
    On hearing the Petition of Peggy Hall admr. of Levi W. Hall dec'd. ordered the Peggy Hall admr. of Levi Hall dec'd. advertise & sell on a credit of six months a negro woman Slave by the name of Sarah in order to pay the Ballance of her intestate debts which remain now unpaid & made due report thereof of such a account Sale to next court.
    Ordered that James Henrick be allowed the sum of $38.50 for keeping & boarding Mary Halsted orphan of William Halstead dec'd/ one year & three months for the year 1817 & that the same be paid & allowed him in settlement of the Estate of said William Halstead dec'd. and that the former voucher be made void.
