In the name of God, Amen. I George POYNER of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being very sick and weak in (body scratched out) or perfect health body, but or and of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, calling unto mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say, principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hans of Almighty God, that gave it, and my body I recommend to the earth, to be buried in a christian burial at the discretion of my executors, nothing doubting, but at the resurrection, I shall receive the same again, by the Almighty power of God; and as touching such worldy estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

Item: I lend to Robert SALYEAR eight acres of land, beginning at a hollow sourwood, runing northeast to a hollow sweet gum, thence on a straight course to Samuel SALYEARs line, thence along SALYEARs line to Isaiah PARRs line thence along PARRs, so far as will contain eight acres and thence to the first station.

Item: I lend unto Nancy Beglo POYNER, all my cleared land, beginning at Powers POYNERs gate post, thence runing along Powers POYNERs line up to the corner of my orchard, thence from the corner of my orchard so far as to take in all my out houses and yopan to a cedar post, thence a straight course to a chipped white oak, thence along the path to the first station, to have the privilege of firewood and rail timber as will support the said house and land during her life, and after her death for it to go to Jesse POYNER and his heirs lawfully begotten of his body to them forever.

Item: I lend unto Jesse POYNER all the remainder of my land and his heirs lawfully begotten of his body to them forever. Likewise I give Nancy Biglo POYNER as much of my corn and pork as will last her one year and all the remainder of estate to be sold to pay my debts. I likewise appoint, constitute, make and ordain Caleb TATUM the sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament, and do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies, bequests and Executors by me in any wise, before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this twenty ninth day of November in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixteen. Signed, sealed, published, pronounced and declared, by the said George POYNER as his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who in his presence, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names.
