 Nathaniel Johnson Walker & Frances Davis Hampton

Nathaniel Johnson Walker, son of William Jackson & Julia (White) Walker was born Feb. 28, 1856 and died May 8, 1921 [death certificate states birth Feb. 2]. On Aug. 18, 1881 at Poplar Branch, he married Frances 'Fannie' Davis Hampton, daughter of Nathaniel N. Hampton & Frances A. Ballance [see the N.N, Hampton Bible].  Fannie was born Apr. 9, 1863 and died July 30, 1930 death certificate. They had the following four children:
  
1) Essie Virginia Walker (1884-1908)
   2) Clarence Eugene Walker (1887-1945)
   3) William Nathaniel "Bill" Walker (1891-1951)
   4) Carl Hampton Walker, Sr. (1898-1962)

Left - Frances "Fannie" Hampton as a child
Right - more than likely Fannie's  sister, Julia Elizabeth Hampton, who was born Aug. 16, 1859, married William Knox Jones on May 29. 1878, and died Aug. 25, 1903.  Julia & William are buried in the Williams-Sawyer Cemetery in Barco, NC.
