Carl Hampton Walker, Sr. & Anna Maude Griggs

Carl Hampton Walker was born in Coinjock, NC on July 9, 1898 and died Oct. 6, 1962 in Raleigh, NC.  He married Anna Maude Griggs, daughter of  Robert Lee & Martha (Newbern) Griggs of Harbinger, NC, in 1921.  Maude was born Jan. 13, 1898 and died in Wilson, NC on Sept. 17, 1969.  Carl attended the University of North Carolina and then returned to Currituck to teach at the Poplar Branch High School. He and Maude moved to Bailey, NC where he continued in education and also was involved in a car dealership. Carl & Maude are buried in Bailey, Nash Co., NC.  Carl & Maude had 4 children:
  1) Carolyn Davis Walker - born & died in Currituck Co. on Oct. 17, 1922
  2) Carl Hampton Walker, Jr. [see photo below]
  3) baby girl Walker - born & died in Currituck Co. on Nov. 9, 1933
  4) living Walker

Carl Hampton Walker, Jr. was born Oct. 25, 1926 and died April 30, 1997 in Tucker, DeKalb Co., Ga. He was an electrical engineer and worked for several cities in NC. He was married to Evelyn Ruth Jones (1924-1971) and to Wanda Gail ______ (1946-1999).  In this photo Carl Jr. appears to be about 7 years of age as he's missing some of his front teeth.
