13 WILLIAM MERRITT, planter, to DINWIDDIE CRAUFURD & CO., Merchants. Mortgage, dated 25 December 1773, on 100 acres of land on Lizard creek bought from JOHN LINCH, JR., adjoining JAMES LINCH, THOMAS EATON, MARK MOORE, & JOHN LINCH, JR., and negroes, wagon, livestock, & furniture, to be sold if debt, with interest, is not satisfied within two years. Wit: THOMAS PETER, SACK BRACEY, and THOMAS CLAIBORNE. Recorded August Court 1774.

16 SIMMONS JONES oŁ Southampton Co., Va., & LAWRENCE BAKER of Hertford Co., N.C. Bond, dated 24 January 1774, to JOSHUA PERRY, to insure payment of balance due CAPT. 19 WILLIAM WILLIAMS of Goochland Co., Va., to JOHN MOSELEY, in trust for grandchildren: WILLIAM, JOHN, JOSEPH, JESSE, JAMES, ELIZABETH, MARY, & ANNE MOSELEY, children of deceased daughter ANNE MOSELEY, late wife of JOHN MOSELEY. Deed of Gift, dated 2 March 1774, of negroes, household goods, and stock. Wit: JOHN TODD, SOLMN. HIGGINS, JAMES STEWART. Recorded August Court 1774.

If NICHOLSON BAGLEY die without issue to go, at my death, to LUCY McLAMORE NICHOLSON, REBECCA NICHOLSON, URBANE NICHOLSON, JOHN NICHOLSON, JAMES NICHOLSON, ARCHARBALD  NICHOLSON, & DAVIS NICHOLSON. MINUTES OF BUTE COUNTY COURT OF PLEAS AND QUARTER SESSIONS, 1774-1778. August Court 1774.

The Last Will and Testament of FRANCIS MABRY, dec'd., was proved by the oaths of GREEN HILL, Esq., and WILLIAM SOLOMON, two of the witnesses, from which proof FRANCIS MABRY, JR., ANGELICA MABRY, AMEY RICHARDS, JESSE MABRY, ELIZABETH MABRY, and DAVID MABRY enter a Caveat . . , etc.

Will of FRANCIS MABRY will be found in Warren County, N.C., Will Book 4, page 101. It was recorded at Warren County April Court 1785: "This will having been proved in Bute Court formerly and never yet been admitted to record; it is ordered by the present Court to be recorded. Test: M. DUKE JOHNSON, C.C."
