Rev. James C. Bass-
who was born, at
least by his accounts, in Chatham County, N.C. He was born 24 Jan 1831 m.
Dorothy L. Morgan 27 Jun 1865, who was also a native of Chatham County. She
was the daughter of Charles Morgan.. James led a notable career as a
preacher in Northeast TN before his death on 05 Jun 1924. One of his more
notible accomplishments was being the founding minister of Lone Oak
Christian Church in Washington County, TN.

They had 8 children,
three of which were born somewhere in N.C. The Three that were born in N.C. were:
William H. Bass b.1866, James S. Bass b. 1868, and
Charlotte Francis "Fannie" Bass b. 1870.
James C.,, Dorothy, and all of his children who were born by 1870 were listed in the 1870
census in  Carter County TN, along with some of Dorothy's relatives (Morgans).
