Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth F. Beasley

I, Elizabeth F. Beasley of the County of Washington and State of North Carolina do make and declare this my last Will and Testament as follows, that is to say.

First. That any Executrix hereinafter named shall provide for my body a decent burial and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts however and to whomsoever arriving out of my moneys that shall first come into the hands as a part and parcel of my estate.

Item 1st I lend to my sister Hester A. Lewis during her natural life my House and lot situate in the plan of the Town of Plymouth, and also all my personal and chattel property consisting of my household and kitchen furniture with any and all debts due me to her own proper use during her life and at her death if my son Joseph W. Beasley or his legal issue are living, I give and devise my house and lot with all the personal and chattel property aforesaid to him the said Jos. W. Beasley or his legal issue. But should he be dead and have no issue it is my will and desire and I give and devise the same to the lawful children of my Brother Wm. F. Lewis in fee simple forever.

Item 2nd I appoint and constitute my sister Hester A. Lewis the guardian of the person of my son Joseph W. Beasley and desire that she shall have the raising of him.

And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my sister and trusty friend Hester A. Lewis my lawful Executrix all intents and purposes to execute this only last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part and clause thereof thereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testament by me made.

In witness thereof I the said Elizabeth F. Beasley do hereon set my hand and affix my seal this day of September 1873.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Elizabeth F. Beasley to be her last will and testament in the presence of us who at her request and in her presence do subscribe this the last will and testament.
