Ella May Tillett was the 6th child born to Josiah Holly Tillett, Sr. and his wife, Levina Baum/Harris [see their photo here].  Ella was born May 13, 1866 in Currituck Co. and died March 31, 1930.  She married Thomas Nelson Sanderlin, Sr. (s/o Jackson Sanderlin & Sidney Lewark) on Feb. 25, 1891 after Thomas' 1st wife, Cora Baum, had passed away in 1888.  Thomas & Ella May had 7 children: 1) Claudia Daly Sanderlin (1892-1974); 2) Alethia May Sanderlin (1893-1977); 3) Matilda Lee "Mattie" Sanderlin (1894-1983); 4) Bessie Belle Sanderlin (1896-1919); 5) infant Sanderlin born & died on July 21, 1897; 6) Thomas Nelson Sanderlin, Jr. (1899-2002); 7) Oscar Colin Sanderlin (1907-1984).
