Albert "Al" Baum Hampton was born Aug. 25, 1883 to Mason Hampton & Mary Jane Baum.  Al died in Aydlett on Oct. 10, 1953 [see death certificate].  He and his wife, Etta O'Neal Hampton, are buried in the Hampton-Doxey Cemetery in Aydlett. Albert became Postmaster of the Aydlett Post Office on June 28, 1909 and was listed in the census records as a grocery merchant.

Cyril Glenn Matthews was born July 27, 1920 and died April 20, 1971 [see death certificate].  He was the son of David Wesley Matthews & his wife Lettie (Hampton) Matthews.Cyril is listed as a 1941 graduate of Dr. W,T. Griggs High School. When he signed his draft card in Feb. 1942 he was working in Norfolk at the Swift & Co.
