February 28, 1815
   
Ordered James Case, a boy of color and son of Betsy Case, bound to John Brumsey he now age 5 or 6 and formerly bound to H. Woodhouse.
    Ordered Peter (20) and Heziah Gordon (19), children of Sarah Gordon, bound to William Gray.
    Ordered Ivy Gordon (11), child of Clack Gordon, bound to Daniel Quidley.
    Jacob Aydlett appointed guardian to Hezekiah Hunt, orphan of Henry Hunt.
    Ordered Jesse Gordon (10), a mulatto boy child of Clack Gordon, bound to Jacob Sawyer.
    Ordered Pemmilia Bowser, daughter of Sarah Bowser, bound to Edward Brickhouse.
    Ordered Mariah Barnham (9), mulatto child of Polly Barnham, bound to M. Morris.
    Ordered Ana Gordon (5), child of Clack Gordon, bound to Sally Heath.

February 29, 1815
    The Last Will and Testament of Thomas Best dec'd. was exhibited in open court and proved by the oath of Caleb Tolor a subscribing evidence at the same time Zachariah Best the Executor therein named qualified.  "Transcribed this the 11th day of October 1829 by Solomon Ashbee"  [I have no idea why this was not put into the books until almost 15 years after his death. kms]

Friday, March 13, 1815
   
Ordered that Thomas Poyner Esqr., Levi W. Hall and Jacob Sawyer, Junr. be appointed commissioners to lay off all of and set apart with Alfred Burgess and Rosanna his wife so much of the crop ____ and provision which were of Adam Etheridge, Sen'r. dec'd. as shall be sufficient for the said Rosanna Burgess late widow of said Adam Etheridge for one year under an Act of the General Assembly in such cases made and provided.

May 29, 1815
   
Ordered that Jacob Sawyer Junr. have the right of admr. on the estate of Sarah Tolor dec'd. widow of Mathias Tolor, Senr. dec'd. who qualified and entered into bond with William Gray and Solomon Ashbee securities in the sum of 1,200 pounds and returned and Inventory and ___ Sales.
    Ordered that Jacob Sawyer Junr. be appointed Guardian to Spence Hall Jun'r. orphan of Spence Hall dec'd. agreeable to his own choice who entered into bond with Thos. Garrett and Daniel Lindsey Junr. who entered into bond with Thomas Garrett and Daniel Lindsey Junr. securities in the sum of 4,000 pounds.
    Ordered that Caleb Tolor have the right of admr on the Estate of James Tolor, dec'd. who qualified as said Ad and entered into bond with John White and ___ Owens securities in the sum of 1,500 pounds.

May 30, 1815
   
Ordered that John White be appointed Guardian to John, Lydia, Julia, Mariana, Mathias & Ivy Tolar orphans of James Tolor dec'd. who entered into bond with Caleb Tolor and Benjamin Parker securities in the sum of 500 pounds for each orphan.

June 1, 1815
   
Ordered that Alfred Burges, Stephen Gaylord, Daniel Baum and James Daniel be appointed patrollers for the Roanoke Island District for the present year and that they act therein according  to Law.
    Ordered that Thomas Griggs, William Griggs, John Hollowell, Caleb Ives and James Jerret to be appointed patrollers in the narrow Shore District for the present year and that they act therein according to Law.
    Ordered that Levi W. Hall, Thomas Poyner, Thomas Garrett & Jonathan Lindsey or any 3 of them audit and settle the accounts of Jacob Sawyer Jun'r. Excor. of the Last will & Testament of Simeon Sawyer dec'd. who were the admr. with the will annexed with W. Twiford dec'd & Make report thereof to next Court.
    Ordered that Thomas Garrett, Jonathan Lindsey, Thomas Poyner and Levi W. Hall or any 3 of them audit and settle the accounts of Jacob Sawyer as Exor.of Simeon Sawyer who was the admr.of Chloe Wesket with ___ estate & make report to our next court.
    Ordered that Willis Gallop, Thos. Poyner, John Patridge & Josiah Perry or any 3 of them appraise & divide the Estate of Wm. Rogers dec'd & settle the . . .
    Ordered that Adam Dough, Ambrose Dough & David Daniel be allowed the sum of $1.00 cts. for their services as patrols in the Roanoke Island District for the year 1812 to be paid them out of the County Tax.
    Ordered that John Hughes be appointed overseer of the Public Road in the Buck Skin District for the present year & that he act therein according to Law.

Aug. 27, 1815
    The Last Will & Testament of Bowen Green Esq'r. dec'd. was exhibited in open court & proved by the oath of John T. Hampton a subscribing witness thereto and at the same time James Melson the Executor therein named qualified as such & ordered the excr. of Bowen Green dec'd.
    Ordered that Thomas Tillett, William B. Etheridge, Azariah Baum & Caleb Toler or any 3 of them divide & settle the accounts of Burket Guard as admr. of the Estate of Prescilla Walker dec'd with the said dec'd. estate & make report thereof the next court.
    The license of Thomas Owens Esqr. from the Judges of the Superior Court authorizing him as a practicing attorney in the several County & Superior Courts within the state was exhibited by Leonard Martin whereas he qualified by taking an oath of office & oath accordingly admitted as a practicing attorney this court.

Aug. 29, 1815
   
Ordered Mary Dough be allowed the sum of 8 pounds for the 3 years keeping & maintenance of a Bastard Child begotten on her body by Wm. Burgess the reputed father.
    Ordered Lovey Burgess be allowed the sum of 8 pounds for three years keeping & maintenance of a Bastard Child begotten on her body by William Ashbee the Reputed father.
    Ordered that admr. on the Estate of Christopher Bundy dec'd. which were at the last term granted to Linton Lee Junr. which she now claims.
    Ordered by Susanna Bundy have the right of admr. on the Estate of Christopher Bundy decd. who qualified as such & entered into bond with Linton Lee Junr. & Thomas Lee securities in the sum of 50 Pounds.
    Ordered that Robert Lee orphan of Michael Lee be placed & become an apprentice unto Thomas Lee until he arrives to the age of 21 years be being now about 14 years of age to Learn the trade of a farmer.
    Ordered that Thomas Sanderson, Daniel Lindsey, Levi W. Hall & Edward Hardy or any 3 of them audit and settle the accounts & vouchers of Thomas Poyner as adm'r. of the Estate of Thomas West dec'd. with the said dec'd estate & make report thereof to next court.

Aug. 30, 1815
   
Ordered that Thomas B. Jarvis be appointed Guardian to John, Jesse and Sally Mercer orphans of Malachi Mercer dec'd. who entered into bond with John White & John T. Hampton securities in the sum of 300 pounds for each orphan
    Ordered that George Griggs have the right of admin. on the Estate of Thomas Chandler dec'd.  Chloe Chandler the widow having Relinquished her right of admr. on the estate of the said dec'd. in favor of the said Charles Griggs who qualified as such & entered into bond with John Anderson & John Dowdy securities in the sum of one hundred pounds.   [NOTE:  This order does start off with George Griggs and then switches to Charles.  I think they probably meant Charles since he is mentioned twice.  George was a son of Charles.]
    Ordered that Charles Sawyer have the right of admr. on the Estate of James Gregory dec'd. who qualified as such & entered into bond with Jeremiah Gregory & Joseph Sawyer securities in the sum of 50 pounds.
    Ordered that Jeremiah Sawyer be appointed Guardian to Mary and Stephen Garrett orphans of Jesse Garrett dec'd. who entered into bond with Charles & Joseph Sawyer securities in the sum of 300 pounds.
    Ordered that Joseph Sawyer have the right of administration on the Estate if Susanna Sawyer dec'd. who qualified and Entered into bond with Jeremiah Sawyer and Charles Sawyer securities in the sum of 300 pounds.
    Ordered that Jacob Sawyer, Junr. be appointed Guardian to Willoughby, Caleb T., Wilson and Simeon Sawyer orphans of Simeon Sawyer dec'd. who entered into bond with Daniel Lindsey & Dennis Dozier senr. securities in the sum of 500 pounds.
    Ordered that Levi W. Hall. Wm. Gray, Daniel Sanderson and Daniel Lindsey Junr. or any 3 of them audit and settle the account of Jacob Sawyer Junr. as Execr of Simeon Sawyer dec'd. who were the adm'r. of Sarah Padrick dec'd with the said dec'd. Estate & make report.

Nov. 27, 1815
   
Ordered that Levi W. Hall have the right of admr. on the Estate of Jacob Sawyer Jun'r. dec'd. who entered into bound with Benjamin Parker & Samuel Milson securities in the sum of 350 pounds and qualified as such at the same time Mathias Sawyer relinquished his right of admin therein in favor of the said Levi W. Hall.
    Ordered that William Owens have the right of adm'r. on the [estate] of Catherine Walker dec'd. who entered into bond with Levi W. Hall & Solomon Chaplin  securities in the sum of 300 pounds and qualified as such.
    Ordered that William Owens have the right of adm'r. on the Estate of Thomas Walker jun'r. dec'd. who entered into bond with Levi W. Hall & Solomon Chaplin securities in the sum of 150 pounds Qualified as such.
    Ordered that Lantry Woodhouse have the right of admr. on the Estate with the will annexed of Mary Woodhouse dec'd. who qualified as such & entered into bond with Edward Hardy & Daniel Lindsey.
    Ordered that Dorcas Sawyer have the right of adm'r. Debonis non on the estate of Simeon Sawyer dec'd. who qualified as such & entered into bond with Levi W. Hall and Jesse Sawyer securities in the sum of 5000 pounds.
    Ordered that Colo. Thomas Poyner, William Gregory, Caleb Forbes & Spence H. Gregory or any three of them audit & settle the a/c of Dorcas Sawyer admr. Debonis non [When an administrator is appointed to succeed another who has left the estate partially unsettled, the administrator is said to be granted "administration de bonis non," that is, of the goods not already administered.] on the Estate of Simeon Sawyer dec'd. with Levi W. Hall admr of Jacob Sawyer Junr. dec'd. who were the Exor. of Simeon Sawyer dec'd & make report.
    Ordered that Thomas Poyner Esqr.,  Levi W. Hall, Daniel Sanderson & John Sanderson be appointed commissioners to lay off allot and set apart unto Chloe Chandler & Elias Gray so much of the stock Crop. & provision which were of the said Thos. Chandler dec'd. as shall be sufficient for the maintenance of the said Chloe Gray & family for one year under an act of the General Assembly in such cases made & provided & make report thereof to court
    Ordered Daniel Lindsey Esqr. Charles Greggs, William Caffee & Thomas Poyner be appointed commissioners to lay off allot & set apart unto Deborah Chandler widow of Benjamin Chandler dec'd/ so much of the Crop. stock & provision which were of the said Dec'd. as shall be sufficient of the said widow & family for one year under an act of the General Assembly in such Cases made & provided & make report thereof to court.
    Ordered that Daniel Lindsey Esqr., Levi W. Hall, Edward Hardy & Wm. Gray be appointed commissioners to lay off allot & set apart unto Elizabeth Jarvis widow of Samuel Jarvis dec'd. so much of the Crop. stock & provision which were of the said Dec'd. as shall be sufficient for the said widow & family for one year under an act of the General Assembly in such Cases made & provided & make report thereof to next court.

Nov. 30, 1815
   
Ordered that Willo. Dozier have the right of admr. on the Estate of Caleb Glasgow dec'd.  who Qualified as such & entered into bond with John Lamb & Josiah Etheridge securities in the sum of $800.00.  At the same time Lydia Glassgow the widow of the said dec'd. relinquish her right of admr. to the said Willo. Dozier & ordered that admr. of Caleb Glassgow dec'd sell.
    Ordered that Colo. Thomas Poyner have the right of admr. on the Estate of Samuel Jarvis dec'd. who Qualified as such & entered into bond with Colo. Andrew Duke & Samuel Salyear Junr. securities in the sum of 2000 pounds at the same time Betsy Jarves widow of Samuel Jarves dec'd. relinquished her right of admr. in favor of Colo. Thomas Poyner.  Ordered that admr. of Saml. Jarvis dec'd sell.
    Ordered that Demcy Northern be appointed Guardian to Joseph Ballentine orphan of Joseph Ballentine Sen'r. dec'd. who entered into bond with David Ballance sen'r. & Nicholas Slack securities in the sum of 2000 pounds.
    On hearing the pet. of Samuel Wilkins for himself & Peggy his wife & Samuel Ferebee Guardian of Catey Gregory orphan of Joseph Gregory dec'd.
    It is ordered that Thomas C. Ferebee, Samuel Williams, Joseph Ferebee & Brickhouse Bell or any 3 of them appraise and divide the negroes the Late property of Mariam Gregory dec'd. widow of Joseph equally among her lawful representatives & make report thereof to next Court.
    Ordered that Ann West be allowed the sum of 6 pounds for maintaining a Bastard Child begotten on her body by John Macoy dec'd. for the year 1814 to be paid in equal quarterly payments by the representatives of the said John Macoy dec'd.
    Ordered that Thomas Baxter, Andrew Duke, James [no surname written] Junr. and Mathias Bell or any 3 of them audit and settle the accounts of William Tatum Executor in right of his wife Winiford who were Executors of the Last will &c of John Bell dec'd/ son of Lettisha with the said dec'd. Estate & make report.
