In the name of God Amen.
I Adam ETHERIDGE of the county of Currituck and the state of North Carolina being sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed be God, do this 29th day of October in the year of our Lord 1812, make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say.

First I lend to my beloved wife Rosamand ETHERIDGE all my property real and personal chattle to her own right and benefit during her natural life and no longer, first paying all my lawful debts.

Secondly I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary BAUM after the death of my wife one pound lawful money of this state.

Thirdly I give and bequeath to the heirs of my son Jesse ETHERIDGE Nancy J Jenniny ETHERIDGE, one pound lawful money of this state after the death of my said wife.

Fourthly I give and bequeath to my daughter Eliza DOWDY one pound lawful money of this state after the death of my wife.

Fifthly I give and bequeath to my Grandson Warren A.DOUGH all my lands and houses for him and his heirs and assign for ever for his only right benefit and behoof, clear of all incumbance, after the death of my said wife Rosamand ETHERIDGE.

Sicthly I give and bequeath to my daughter Mava DOUGH besides the above mentioned legacies, two thirds of the balance of all my property personal and chattle after the death of my said wife Rosamand ETHERIDGE.

Seventhly I give and bequeath to my daughter Sally ETHERIDGE after the above mentioned legacies one third of the balance of my property personal and chattle after the death of my wife Rosamand ETHERIDGE.

And I hereby make and ordain my wife Rosamand ETHERIDGE and my friend Benjamin DOUGH Executors of this my Last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I the said Adam ETHERIDGE have to this my Last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the day year above written,

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Adam ETHERIDGE the testor as his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who were presents at the time of signing and sealing thereof
