Know all men by these presents that I, Enoch Daniel, Constable have by virtue of my office sold as the property of William Baldwin Jr and William Baldwin Senr at the courthouse in the aforesaid county on the 2nd Monday in August 1829 three negroes Viz: Rebecca and her two children Reuben and Frederick to satisfy sundry executions in my hands Viz: four in favor of James Burney against the said William Baldwin Senr and Armilan(?) Baldwin and one other in favor of Ambrose Smith against the said William Baldwin, after having advertised said negroes for sale agreeable to law, at which time and place aforesaid Daniel Shipman of Bladen County being the last and highest bidder became the purchaser of said negroes for the sum of four hundred and twenty one dollars. And I the said Enoch Daniel constable do by virtue of my office warrant and defend the said negroes free and clear of all incumbrances so far as my office extends and no further. Witness my hand and seal this 11th day of August AD 1829.
