Notes for JOSEPH CLARK MORGAN:
Served in the "Grand Army of the Republic" as captain. He is on Muster
list for Co. A, 25th Kentucky Infantry organzied in 1861, Henderson Co
KY. He was assigned to the Div. Commanded by General T. L. Crittenden
and afterward consolidated with 17th Regiment composed of mostly
Crittendon County soldiers.
Joseph Samuel married Sarah "Sallie" Johnson, born 1827 in Cannon County
Tennessee. She was a daughter or Allan Johnson born 1790 in South
Carolina and Nancy ?, born 1800 in Virginia.
Jospeh Samuel sold land to his son Samuel and wife Isabelle "Belle" in
1884. The land was located on the banks of the Tradewater River in
Webster County Kentucky. It was sold for the sum of $20.00. This was
the village called Blackford. Samuel operated a general store here and
later when more people came, built the first boarding house. This was
the first store in Blackford.

Notes for SAMUEL MORGAN:
Joseph Clarrk Morgan sold land to his son, Samuel and wife, Isobelle
"Belle" in 1884 for the sum of $20.00. The land was on the banks of the
Tradewater River in Webster County, Kentucky. This was in the village
called Blackford. Samuel owned and operated the first store there, then
later a boarding house as others came. He and Dr. Tom White gave the
land for the cemetary at Blackford. Samuel is buried in the Blackford
Cemetary. He and Belle had seven children.

Susan Jane Morgan is Virginia Griffin's grandmother. Virginia writes,
"She always told me her father's name was ? Williamson and he was killed
in the Civil War when she was a very small child. So far I have not been
able to find find Frances' marriage to a Williamson. When she married
Jack Johnson, he didn't want Susan living whith them so she stayed with
her grandparents, Spencer and Elizabeth Morgan, and always went by the
name of Susan Jane Morgan. Frances may not have been married at all when
she had Granny. There is no record of her having children by Josiah
Tucker or of what ever happened to him."
