There are several more deeds, but those are probably the most important.  Of interest is one from 1792, Jonathan Barns to Benjamin Tyson.  Witnesses are Jonathan Barns, Jeremiah Barnes.  Witness Jonathan is shown as Jonathan Barns, Jr in a 1796
deed witnessed by Seth.

Seth, Jeremiah, and Jonathan, Jr all sign their names.  Old Jonathan signs with an X.

There is one other of note.  James Barnes of Anson Co to Adam Weaver of Chatham Co.  James signs with an X.

Jonathan BARNES Sr and Sarah STEEL were married on February 25, 1762 in North Carolina.5   It's possible that Jonathan was living in Cumberland Co, NC at the time of his marriage.  Sarah STEEL died after 1800. 6  9/5/1761 – Sarah was received by request to the Cane Creek Monthly Meeting

Seth witnesses a 1787 deed between Uncle Jeremiah Barns and Joseph Gilbert.

Seth Barnes was dismissed from the Cane Creek Monthly Meeting 11/6/1790.  Since that was near the time that he married, I assume that he married outside the Quaker Church.
