The Descendants of Joshua Wilson
The Wilson families were prominent in Catawba County from the mid 1700's, onward. Merchants, judges, soldiers legislators they made their mark.

Thirty years after the pioneer, Matthew Wilson, settled on what would be Catawba County, Joshua Wilson would buy property close to his namesake. Both families likely came from the same area of Northern Ireland. Their families would shape the heritage of Catawba County and contribute to the rich culture and history of Western North Carolina and in the distant places where they migrated.
