Know all men by these presents that I, Jas H Allen, Sheriff of Brunswick County have levied & sold agreeable to law a certain piece of parcel of land supposed to contain fifty acres more or less situated in Brunswick county & near the waters of Livingston Creek & known as the Samuel Jacobeson Place, and Hugh Smith becoming the last and highest bidder at the sum of seventy five dollars bounded by the land owned by Henry Patrick, Hugh Smith, and James R Gristland which tract I warrant & defend so far as the virtue of my office and no further this 19th day of May 1846.

Court of Please & Quarter Sessions March Term 1847 the due execution of the foregoing deed from James H Allen Sheriff to Hugh Smith was acknowledged in open court by said Allen and ordered to be registered.
