                  Jacob M. "Jake" Miller 1856 - 1944                                                                (Left - Right) Loyd Miller - Jacob M. "Jake" Miller (1941)
Martha T. Miller 1866 - 1903                                                                            Loyd son of Jacob and Martha Etta Teague Miller

Jacob M. "Jake" Miller was my grandfather.  He was born 1856 Catawba County a son of Noah and Leah (Hefner) Miller who removed from Catawba to Alexander County before 1880.  Jacob died 24 Feb 1944 at age of 88 in Caldwell County, NC, and was taken to Macedonia cemetery for burial.  Martha Etta Teague Miller, was a daughter of Henry and Obedience "Bedie" (Warren) Teague.  She was born 1866 and stone says she died in 1903.  Her death date probably incorrect since Anna Watts Echerd's Journal contains the following:  "Mrs. Jake Miller died 3 Nov 1907."  Mrs. Clarence (Desilu) Price's journal contains the same thing: "Jake Miller's wife Nov 3, 1907." Jake and Etta's last child, Fannie Lucille Miller, was born in Alexander County, 26 April 1907.  Dying of throat cancer, Etta's last words after holding her baby, Fannie, were "my baby."  Henry and Bedie Warren Teague are also buried in Macedonia cemetery.  After Etta's death Jacob married Bessie Susan Cloer, widow of J. W. "Will" Stanford of Patterson, Caldwell Co., NC.  Bessie was a daughter of George Washington and Martha K. (Martin) Cloer of Patterson.

Bessie Susan Cloer Stanford Miller

Bessie Susan Cloer Miller was born 14 Aug 1881 in Patterson, Caldwell Co., and died
4 Aug 1972, buried Harper's Chapel Methodist Church cemetery, Patterson, beside first husband Will Stanford.  Bessie and Jake Miller had two children, James Woodrow Miller
(my father) and Annie Pearl Miller Freeman.
