BLOUNT.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Mrs. A.L. GURKIN<\/strong> has been the guest of <strong>Mrs. J.H. CLARK<\/strong> for a few days.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Miss Isolind LUCAS<\/strong> has just returned from Kinsey Seminary, Wilson, N.C.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">On Tuesday night the Ladies&#8217; Guild furnished an ice cream supper in the town hall, which was very enjoyable.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Miss Jim ROBERTSON<\/strong>, of Washington, formerly of Roper, made a flying trip here on Saturday to see relatives. \u00c2\u00a0She returned home on Monday.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Mr. Robt. ROPER<\/strong> returned from E. City on Friday, 15th, where he has been attending Prof. SHEEP&#8217;s school. \u00c2\u00a0The girls are glad to see you Bob.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Mr. N.H. MERRITT<\/strong> left here on Friday last for Goldsboro, where he has accepted a position as band sawyer with the Empire Lumber Co. &#8220;Oh, don&#8217;t cry girl; &#8220;Ne&#8221; will come back.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Miss Eloise DOUGH<\/strong> is spending a month with relatives and friends in Norfolk and Portsmouth. \u00c2\u00a0Don&#8217;t look so sad, John; you&#8217;ll soon be cherred [sic] with the presence of those bright eyes again.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Miss Mabel ROPER<\/strong> returned from Norfolk on Friday last, where she has been attending Mary Washington College. \u00c2\u00a0One so cheerful and pleasant as Miss Mable is always welcome in Roper.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Mess. E. CHRISTIAN<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0and <strong>L.P. ELLIOTT,<\/strong> the filer and sawyer in the Albemarle mill of the Roper Lumber Co., have just returned from Norfolk with their families, much to the pleasure of their many friends here.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Little Workers of the M.E.
