HOWARD, Chas. P<\/strong>. – Again on Wednesday night at 7:15 o\u2019clock a large number of our people gathered within the historic old walls of Grace Church to witness another marriage ceremony.\u00a0 This time the contracting parties were Mr. Chas P. HOWARD, of Portsmouth, Va., and Miss Sallie PEARCE, of this city. As the musical chime of the old bell rung out upon the bustling town at 7:30 the bridal party marched up to the chancel and in a solemn manner they were pronounced man and wife, by the Rector, Rev. Luther EBORN.\u00a0 Messrs. Clarence LATAHM and Louis HORNTHAL acted as ushers.\u00a0 The bride was given away by Mr. Clarence LATHAM.\u00a0 The happy couple repaired to the residence of Mr. E.R. LATHAM, the former home of the bride.\u00a0 The groom has accepted a position in the painting department of the \u201cOld Reliable\u201d Carriage Factory, \u00a0and will make this his future home. \u00a0We extend to him a hearty welcome among us and congratulations to him and his fair bride, wishing them much happiness and prosperity. SPRUILL, W.T.<\/strong> – Marriage Bells – Just as the soft shades of twilight were falling around the historic old town on Wednesday evening, the stillness was suddenly broken by the merry chimes was suddenly broken by the merry chimes of the bell as it rang out from the lofty steeple of old Grace church, upon the still moonlit night, giving the call to the multitude of friends of Mr. W.T. SPRUILL and Miss Alice HILLIARD, to gather and witness them, as happy a couple as ever bowed at Hymens altar, joined in the holy bonds of matrimony.\u00a0 The groom is one of the most successful young farmers of the county and the bride one of the most attractive young ladies of the town and a daughter of our worthy Register of Deeds, Mr. J.P. HILLIARD.\u00a0 The ceremony was performed at 6:30 o\u2019clock by the Rector Rev. Luther EBORNE. The bride entered from the western door leaning upon the arm of her father.\u00a0 The groom entered from the eastern door attended by Mr. L.L. NEWBERRY and as the solemn wedding march drifted out upon the still moonlight night they marched up to the chancel where they were, in the most solemn manner, pronounced man and wife.\u00a0 The bride was attired in a beautiful costume of blue silk.
