Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions


January Session 1821

Administration on the estate of Tarte White was committed to Joseph White who entered into bond with approved security & quallified agreeable to law. Ordered that letters of administration issue thereon & that he proced to sell the perishable estate of said deceased & account for the same agreeable to law.

Ordered that Charles Hoskins David Clayton and William Alfred lay off to Nancy White widdow of Tarte White deceased one years provision agreeable to act of assembly & make report to next term.

April Session 1821

Joseph White administrator of the estate of Tarte White filed in the clerks office a coppy of an advertisement of said estate certified by Thomas Sikes - filed.

Joseph White returned on oath in open court an inventory & account sales of the estate of Tarte White deceased amounting to $428.22 1/2 cents & filed.

The years provision of Nancy White widdow of Tarte White was returned to court & filed.

January Session 1825

Ordered that John A. Patrick, Dempsey Liverman, Timothy Jones Senr. be appointed to audite and settle the estate of Tart White deceased with the administrator Joseph White.

April Session 1825

Ordered that John A. Patrick, Dempsey Liverman & Timothy Jones Senr. be appointed to audite and settle the estate of Tart White deceased with the administrator Jos. White and make report to the next term.

January Session 1826

Ordered that Jno. B. Beasley, Dempsey Liverman & Wm. Liverman Junr. be appointed to audite and settle the estate of Tart White with his administrator Jos. White.

July Session 1826

Ordered that John B. Beasley, Timothy Jones & Charles McClees be appointed commissioners to audite & settle the estate of Tart White deceased with his administrator Joseph White.

January Session 1827

Ordered that Wm. Alfred, Dempsey Liverman & Benjamin Sykes be appointed to audite & settle the estate of Tarte White and make returns as the law directs.

Bond dated 1 Jan 1821 in the amount of fifteen hundred dollars appointing Joseph White administrator of the estate of Tarte White deceased, Josiah Sawyer & Carney Spencer securities.

Summons dated 17 Jan 1827 for Joseph White administrator of Tarte White to appear before a Justice of the Peace to answer the plea of John A. Patrick of debt by note of hand in the sum of ninety dollars. Signed by Wm. Alfred. Note on back of summons says satisfied by a levy upon the lands of Tarte White deceased adjoining the lands of Barney White & Jeconius Neil on 20 Jan 1827.

Summons issued at January Term 1827 for Wilson B. Hodges guardian ad litem of Elizabeth White heir at law of Tarte White deceased to show cause if any why an execution in favor of John A. Patrick against the lands of Tarte White deceased should not be carried out.

Bond dated 29 Oct 1839 in the sum of five hundred dollars appointing Frederick Patrick guardian of Eliza White orphan of Tarte White deceased, Tompson Liverman & F. J. Cahoon securities.


Transcriber's Notes:

Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of Tart White to Nancy White on 10 Mar 1819, Joseph Snell security.

Nancy White may be the widow of William White who died in 1818.
