Vendrix, Martha, 1850
Contract dated 26 May 1850 between Charles Meekins and Jordan L. Jones both of Tyrrell County. In consideration of $60 paid to him by Jordan L. Jones, Charles Meekins sets off to Jordan L. Jones all his right and interest in the estate of Martha & Sarah Liverman whereof I am one of the heirs by the right of my mother, Jerusha Meekins, and my wife by the death of Martha Vendrix, it being understood that I intend to convey all my own and my wife Jerusha Meekins interest both personal and real free and clear. Witnessed by Franklin Liverman & Charles Meekins.
Bond dated 23 Jul 1850 in the amount of $600 appointing J. L. Jones administrator of the estate of Martha Vendrix deceased, Thos. Swain & Isaac Casey securities.
Receipt dated 11 Jan 1851 wherein Thos. Wetherly acknowledges payment of $66.18 from Jordan L. Jones, administrator of the estate of Patsy Vendrix deceased for his distributive share of the personal estate of said Patsy Vendrix. Witnessed by Thos. Swain.
Account of the estate of Martha Vendrix by her administrator Jordan L. Jones from 5 Sep 1850 to 23 Apr 1855 showing a balance owed the estate of $257.97. The account received $198.54 from A. D. Liverman administrator of the estate of Patty & Sarah Liverman on 5 Sep 1850.
Receipt dated 25 Jul 1857 wherein F. Vendrix acknowledges payment of $85.99 from Samuel McClees Clerk of the Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions in full of his part of an execution Franklin Liverman, administrator de bonis non Martha Vendrix deceased vs. T. L. Jones administrator. Witnessed by Thomas Swain.

Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of Thomas Weatherly to Susan Vendrix on 28 Jan 1846, (Charles McClees) security. The 1850 Census of Tyrrell County shows the family of Thomas Weatherly (30), Susan A. Weatherly, Caroline Calvin Weatherly (4), John Weatherly (2) and Franklin Vendrix (18).
The 1850 Census of Tyrrell County shows the family of Charles Meekins (28), Russia Meekins (24) and William Meekins (3). The 1860 Census of Craven County shows Russia to be Jerusha.
Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of Asia Vendrix to Patsey Banks on 15 Feb 1820, John C. Gibson security. The 1830 Census of Tyrrell County shows Asa Vendrix (30-40), one male (5-10), one female (20-30) and 3 females (5-10). The 1840 census of Tyrrell County shows Patsey Vendricks (40-50), one male (5-10), one male (10-15) and 3 females (15-20). This file contains no mention of the second son or the third daughter shown in census records. The missing son could be James Vendrick (24, laborer) living in the family of Benjamin Cutrell (42) in Hyde County in the 1850 Census. He is the right age and the only other Vendrix around.
