January Session 1825

Joseph Wynne & Robert Wynne executors of John Tarkenton deceased came into open court and offered for probate the last will and testament of the said John Tarkenton deceased - Ann Wynne one of the legatees and heirs at law by her agent Jeremiah Wynne accepts service of notice of the probate thereof.

The due execution of the will of John Tarkenton deceased was duly proven in open court by the oath of Peter Wynne and Polly Long who also swore that they saw Noah Powers and Rhoda Powers sign the said will as witnesses at the same time.

April Session 1825

Robert Wynne & Joseph Wynne Junr. appeared in open court and were duly qualified as executors to the last will and testament of John Tartenton Junr. deceased.

Ordered that the executors of John Tarkenton Junr. deceased sell so much of the perishable estate of the said Tarkenton deceased as will satisfy the debts etc. at a credit of 6 mo.

January Session 1825

Ordered that Henry Alexander, Jos. Halsey & Samuel Rogers audite & settle the estate of Jno. Tarkenton with Robert Wynne the executor.

April Session 1834

Robert Wynne executor of Jno. Tarkenton deceased returned into open court the audited account of said estate.

Statement by Robt. Wynne & Joseph Wynne executors on 2 Jan 1826 stating "Inventory of one old negroe woman named Patience belonging to the estate of John Tarkinton Senr. deceased with one arm has come to his executors for support."


Transcriber's Notes:

Despite there being records for John Tarkenton Junr. and John Tarkenton Senr., they appear to be the same person since the executors also named in these records are the same.
