State of N. Carolina. Tyrrel County. The
25th of December 1841. In the name of God Amen – I Samuel Spruill of the
State and County aforesaid do ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner
and folowing that is to say-
1st. I give my soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body who to be
decently buried-
Item- 1st. I give to Milly Spruill fifty one dollars and fifty cents-
Item- 2nd. I give to John Spruill two hundred and ten dollars-
Item- 3rd I give Abagail Tarkinton one bed and firnature-
Item- 4th I give Nancy Cahoon ten dollars-
Item- 5th I give Pamela Tweedy two hundred and fifty dollars-
Item- 6th I give Jacob Tweedys children one hundred and seventy three
dollars and 79/100 to be equally divided between them-
Item- 7th I give to Jos. Caroons children five dollars-
Item- 8th I give negro girl Chane and her increase to Elizabeth
Tweedy & Mary Tweedy. And I hereby make & ordain my worthy
friend John Spruill executor of this my last Will & Testament in
witness whereof I the said Samuel Spruill heave to this my last Will
& and Testament set my hand & seal the day & year above written
signed sealed published & declared by the said Testator to be his last Will
in the presenc of us-

open court & proved by the oath of Jos. I. Pledger in due form of law
who swore that at the time of signing said will said Spruill was of sound
desposing mind & memory-

Note from W. Armstrong dated 7 Sep 1841 promising to pay S. S. Simmons & Co. $331.98 one day after date. Endorsed on the back by S. S. Simmons transferring the debt to Samuel Spruill on 11 Dec 1841.
Note from S. S. Simmons dated 11 Dec 1841 promising to pay samuel Spruill $276.19 on the 1st day of January next.
Summons dated the 4th Monday in July 1842 and issued 26 Jul 1842 for W. G. Armstrong to appear in court on the 4th Monday in October next to answer unto John Spruill, executor of Samuel Spruill, in a plea of debt in the amount of $331.98.
Appearance bond dated 6 Sep 1842 in the amount of $663.96 for Wm. G. Armstrong to appear in court on the 4th Monday in October to answer unto John Spruill as executor of Samuel Spruill in a plea of debt in the amount of $331.98.
Summons dated the 4th Monday in October 1842 and issued 2 Dec 1842 for Samuel S. Simmons to appear in court on the fourth Monday in January next to answer unto John Spruill executor of Samuel Spruill in a plea of debt in the amount of $276.19 and damages of $30.
Execution dated the 4th Monday of April 1843 and issued 31 May 1843 against Wm. G. Armstrong and in favor of John Spruill in the amount of $331.98 plus interest from 8 Sep 1841 and court costs of $8.45. Endorsed on the back satified and defendant paid the full amount by John McClees, Sheriff and endorsed by Jos. Alexander, Clerk that he recieved the monies from the Sheriff on 23 Oct 1843.
Execution dated the fourth Monday in July of 1843 and issued 13 Oct 1843 against S. S. Simmons and in favor of John Spruill, executor of Samuel Spruill, in the amount of $276.19 with interest from 1 Jan 1842 and $8.20 in court costs. Endorsed on back that payment of $242 was received on 24 Oct 1844.
