Transcriber's Notes:
The 1850 Census of Perquimans County shows the household of Jesse Twine (28), Elizabeth Twine (30), Elizabeth M. Spence (12), Mary F. Spence (8), Joseph Spence (4), Mary E. Twine (7), Jesse Twine (4) and William N. Twine (1 mo.). The three Spence children each own real estate valued at $300. The above guardian accounts all show payments to Jesse S. Twine for board.
The 1850 Census of Perquimans County shows the marriage of Jesse S. Twine to Lavinia Spence on 20 Sep 1848. Could she be the widow of Jos. S. Spence?
The guardian, Anthony Elliott, is age 26 in the 1850 Census of Perquimans County. He was married to Mary A. Hollowell.
It is apparent that Joseph Spence must have died circa 1847 instead of 1851.
