Pugh, Damon M., 1847
Petition April Term 1847 of Mariah Pugh, widow of Damon Pugh deceased, who states that Damon Pugh departed this life about 15 Mar 1847 leaving her unprovided for. She prays her year's allowance be layed off from the personal estate.
Bond dated 26 Apr 1847 in the amount of $2,000 appointing Jesse McClees administrator of the estate of D. M. Pugh deceased, Jos. Owens & Ashel Sikes securities.
Laying off of the year's allowance of Maria Pugh widow of Damion Pugh deceased on 21 May 1847 by Abner Sawyer, Samuel G. Salyear, Wallis Twiford & Brittian Sawyer.
Bond dated 28 Apr 1851 in the amount of $1,000 appointing Jesse McClees guardian to the heirs of Damond M. Pugh to wit Patsy R. Charlot T. & Dammond M., Luther Babbitt & Henry McClees securities.
Bond dated 28 Jan 1857 in the amount of $1,000 appointing John McClees administrator de bonis non of the estate of Dammon Pugh deceased, Jesse Sanderson & William McClees securities.
Bond dated 28 Jan 1858 in the amount of $2,000 appointing John McClees administrator de bonis non of the estate of Dammon Pugh deceased, Henry McClees & William McClees securities.
Petition January Term 1858 of Mariah Pugh and her two children, infants without guardian by their next friend and mother, the said Mariah Pugh, who shows that Jesse McClees was administrator of her husband's estate. Jesse McClees is dead and John McClees became administrator of the estate of Jesse McClees. Said John McClees is also administrator de bonis non of Dammon Pugh in which capacity he holds the estate of said Dammon Pugh consisting of a negro man and some three or four hundred dollars in cash. They pray the said John McClees be ordered to set fort an account and come to a settlement.
Account of John McClees, administrator de bonis non of the estate of Damon Pugh deceased, examined by Eli Spruill Clerk of the Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions on 21 Apr 1858. The two children are due $787.95, the widow Mariah Pugh having heretofore received her distributive share of the estate.

See the 1837 estate papers of Henry Galloway which establish that Mariah Pugh is his daughter and Dameron Pugh his son in law.
The 1850 Census of Tyrrell County shows the household of Maria Pew (26), Patsy R. Pew (9), Charlotte T. Pew (5) and Damon M. Pew (3).
