Dated 15 June 1787

In the name of God amen, I Mary Norman of the County of Tyrrell & State of North Carolina being sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory praised be the Almighty, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following Viz. First I give and recommend my soul to God my Maker and my body to be buryed in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executors, and as for such worldly goods as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give & bequeath the same in manner following Viz.

Item - I give and bequeath to my son-in-law Daniel Garrett one shilling sterling as a bar against any other part of my Estate.

Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Zerucah Davenport one quart pot & hooks & tramel & one chest.

Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Keziah Norman one small carse of bottles, two quart basons and one cow and one meir named Fancy & Ewe

Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Susanna Norman one large carse of bottles & two Chaney plates, & one pewter plat, & one pewter bason, & two pair of cards & one Siver, and one feather bed & furniture that has been called hers and two sows and one ewe

Item - I give & bequeath to my son Joel Norman one feather bed & some furniture and one cow & calf.

Item - I give and bequeath to my son James Norman one feather bed & some furniture, & one mare which he has now in possession.

Item - I give and bequeath to my son Simeon Norman one feather bed & some furniture & three head of cattle that are called his.

Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Pescilla Norman, one small pot, and pewter dish & plate and quart bason & one chest & one cow & calf that is called hers, & one cow besides.

Item - I give and bequeath to my son Jeremiah Norman one feather bed and firneture one small gun & five head of cattle, & six cheers one pewter dish and bason, two plows, two hoes, and two axes, one honey tub & one molasses tub, one churn, & one sugar bucket two muggs, two bowls, four junk bottles three cyder barrels.

Item - I give and bequeath to my granson Jeremiah Garrett one heifer & one pewter dish.

Item - I give and bequeath to my grandaughter Anne Garret one feather bed and firneture -

Item - I give and bequeath to my granson Enoch Garrett one heifer and one pewter dish -

Item - I give and bequeath to my two daughters Susanna and Prescellia Norman one horse named Prince to be equaly divided between them -

Item - My Will and Desire is that all my Estate that is not heretofore mentioned in Legacy be equaly divided amongst my children Zerucah, Kiziah, Susanna Joel James Simeon Prescellia & Jeremiah Norman And I do hereby nominate ordain and appoint my three sons Joel James & Simeon Norman Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and disanull all former and other Wills by me made hereby ratitying and allowing this to be my last Will and Testament. In Testimony whereof I have signed, sealed and published this as my last Will and Testament this fifteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven.

Personally appeared Isaac Long and made oath on the Holy Evangelist of almighty God that he saw and heard Mary Norman above named sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the above instrument of writing to be her last will and testament and at that time she was of sound disposing mind and memory and at the same time he saw Ann Davenport a subscribing witness sign her name thereunto & further saith not
