Petition October Term 1848 of Ann C. Myers, widow of Thomas Myers deceased, who shows that her husband died recently possessed of considerable personal property, crops, stock and provisions out of which shr is entitled to a year's provision for herself and family. She prays an order for the same.
Petition January Term 1849 of Ann C. Myers, widow of Thomas B. Myers deceased, showing that her said husband died recently intestate seized and possessed of 250 acres of land in Tyrrell County on which he resided, 150 acres on the east side of Scuppernong River in Tyrreell County, 200 acres in Tyrrell County formerly the property of Joseph Bateman deceased, 45 acres in Washington County that is part of Goodmans Swamp and 250 acres in Washington County joining Robert B. Davis and others. Petitioner further shows that said Myers left as his heirs at law to whom said lands descended the following infant children viz. Thomas B., John, Indianna & Mary Ann Myers, all of whom have Saml. Rogers as their guardian. She shows that she is entitled to dower in said lands for life and prays a decree of dower.

Petition October Term 1850 of Jos. B. Davenport and wife, Thomas B. Myers, Indianna Myers & John Myers by their guardian Samuel Rogers, Henry T. Myers by his guardian Jos. B. Davenport and Samuel Rogers administrator of Mary Ann Myers deceased who show that they are tenants in common of 26 slaves belonging to the estate of Thomas B. Myers. Petitioners pray a division of said slaves.

Court order at April Term 1851 on relation of Myres heirs by next friend Jos. B. Davenport vs. Saml. Rogers, guardian to Thos. B. Myres heirs. Ruling is that Samuel Rogers be removed from the guardianship of Indiana Myres, Thos. B. Myres & John Myres infant heirs of Thos. B. Myres deceased that was previously granted to him. Appeal prayed and granted with no bond required. Another document shows that the complaint against Rogers was that he had moved the wards and much of their property from Tyrrell County to Martin County where the property is less available and that he has hired out three of the ward's slaves at private hirings, two of these to himself, at such low rates that result in a loss of $80 to $100 per annum to his wards.

Decree at January Term 1853 in the case of Saml. Rogers, administrator of Mary Ann Myers deceased versus Joseph B. Davenport guardian and others. Case heard upon the petition and account filed and account is confirmed in every respect. Ordered, judged and decrees that the amount in the hands of Saml. Rogers administrator of Mary Ann Myers is $756.14 to which sum the defendants Thomas B. Myers, Joseph B. Davenport guardian to Henry T. Myers, Indianna Myers & John Myers are each entitled to $189.03, the shares of Indianna Myers & John Myers to remain in the hands of Saml. Rogers their guardian.
Summons directed to the Sheriff of Washington County issued 7 Apr 1855 for Joseph Davenport to appear at the next term of court to renew his guardian bond for Henry T. Myers or another guardian will be appointed. Sheriff says not to be found.

Bond dated 28 Apr 1856 in the amount of $6,000 appointing Daniel Woodley guardian to Henry T. Myers infant son of Thomas B. Myers deceased, Charles L. Pettigrew & John McCleese securities.
Complaint of M. L. Eure, Solicitor of the First Circuit, to the Tyrrell County Court of Equity at Spring Term 1867 showing that Daniel
Woodley was appointed guardian to Henry Myers at the January Term 1856 in Tyrrell County, entering into bond of $6,000 with
Charles L. Pettigrew & John McCleese his sureties. The said guardian took into his possession a large amount of property belonging
to Henry Myers to the value of $3,000 or some other large amount, which he has continued to retain, so far as the same has not been
wasted or destroyed by him. At the expiration of 3 years the said Daniel Woodley failed to renew his guardian bond or give any other
security. Notice was sent to the guardian to renew his bond or give another bond according to law, which notice was returned to the court.
Not withstanding, the said Daniel Woodley failed or refused to renew and still fails or refuses to renew or give another guardian bond.
The said Daniel Woodley still holding his office of guardian and the said Henry Myers still being under age, by reason therefore
the estate of the said Henry Myers is in great danger of being wasted and lost to the said Henry Myers for want of sufficient
security to the said bond the said Daniel Woodley has become liable to forfeiture of his office as guardian and to come to an account
with this orator for the administration of the estate of Henry Myers and the delivery and payment of the same to such persons as the
court may direct. May the court issue subpoena to the said Daniel Woodley, Charles L. Pettigrew & John McCleese to appear at the
next term of court and answer this complaint.
This is followed by a summons by the Tyrrell County Court of Equity on the 1st Monday of March 1867 for Daniel Woodley to appear
at the next term of court.
