Bond dated 27 Apr 1846 in the amount of $4,000 appointing Benjamin Spruill administrator of the estate of Soloman Mann deceased, Jno. Sanderson & Joseph A. Spruill securities.
Petition April Term 1846 of Ann Caroline Mann widow of Soloman Mann deceased on whose estate Benjamin Spruill was appointed administrator at this Term. She shows that her husband died intestate and possessed of a large amount of personal property out of which she is entitled to a year's provision for herself and four children. She prays an order.
Petition April Term 1846 of Caroline A. Mann, widow of Soloman Mann deceased, who shows that her husband died intestate recently without having made any provision for her, either in realty or personalty. Petitioner further shows that he died seized and possessed of two tracts of land, one containing 80 to 100 acres of land joining Joseph Tweedy & John Arnold, the other 100 acres of swamp back of Croatan, and out of each she is advised she is entitled to dower. The heirs at law to whom said lands have descended are his children Affy, Soloman, Sally & Lewis of full age and Elizabeth & Mary, infants of tender years and without guardian. She prays that dower be decreed.

Laying off of the dower of Caroline Mann, widow of Soloman Mann, in the lands of her deceased husband on 14 May 1846 by William Morris, Charles P. Shepherd, Rowan Clow, A. H. Smith, Fred Davenport, Thos. Meekins, King Hackett, Jesse Hassell, T. B. Midyett, Henry Gibson, Jonathan Tweedy & Jesse McClees. She received 1/3rd of 150 acres including the dwelling and out houses.
Petition October Term 1846 of Benjamin Spruill, administrator of Soloman Mann deceased, who shows that the estate of his intestate is entitled to two negro slaves named Fred & Margaret and that the debts of the estate can't be paid without the sale of one of them. Since there are ten distributees of said estate, sale of the other negro is also necessary. Petitioner prays an order for sale of both negros.
Summons for Apha Midyett, Sally McClees, Lewis, Elizabeth & Mary Mann, heirs at law of Soloman Mann deceased, to appear at court on the 4th Monday in July 1846 to answer the petition of C. E. Mann.
Bond dated 2 Oct 1847 in the amount of $1,000 appointing Ann Caroline Mann guardian to Eliza, Daniel & Caroline Mann orphans of Soloman Mann deceased, Geo. Horswell & Benjamin F. Sikes securities.
Summons dated 15 Oct 1852 for John G. Alexander and wife Ann C. to appear at October Term and renew the bond in which Ann Caroline Mann was appointed guardian to the infant heirs of S. Mann, otherwise some other person will be appointed.
Bond dated 25 Oct 1852 in the amount of $2,000 appointing John Alexander guardian to Daniel, Eliza & Caroline Mann orphans, Henry Bateman, Jas. M. Davenport & T. B. Myers securities.
Bond dated 24 Oct 1853 in the amount of $500 appointing Ann C. Alexander guardian to Eliza Mann, Daniel Mann & Caroline Mann orphans, Benjamin F. Sikes & Henderson Lewis securities.
Bond dated 23 Oct 1855 in the amount of $2,500 dollars appointing Henderson Lewis guardian to Mary E., Daniel & Caroline Mann orphans of Sol. Mann, John H. McClees & Saml. Norman securities.
Petition October Term 1857 of James Hassell in right of his wife Eliza and of Henderson Lewis guardian to Daniel B. & Caroline Mann who show that they are tenants in common of three negros, Margaret and children Ann & [blank]. Said James Hassell desires to have his share in severalty, but said negros can't be divided so as to give each an equal share. Petitioners request an order for sale.
Report dated 25 Jan 1858 of James L. Hassell & Henderson Lewis, commissioners appointed to sell negro slaves Margaret and children Ann & Mary Jane per their petition. Sold to Jesse Norman for $916.
