McKimmey, Joseph, 1846
Petition January Term 1846 of Patsey McKimmey, widow of Joseph McKimmey, who states that her husband departed this life intestate on or about 1 Dec 1845 and no administrator has yet been appointed. She prays her year's allowance be set off to her and her family.
Laying off of the year's allowance of the widow, Patsy McKimmey, on 18 Apr 1846 by Jonathan Tweedy Justice of the Peace and Henry McClees, John A. Brickhouse & Alexader H. Smith.
Petition April Term 1846 of Jesse McClees, administrator of the estate of Joseph McKimmey, who shows that the said estate is indebted to him in the sum of about $40 by account, the personal assets being insufficient, they being exhausted by other debts and debts of higher dignity. He further shows that the said McKimmey died seized and possessed of 200 acres of swamp on the east side of Great Alligator River formerly purchased by Thomas & John Sikes from William Applegate. The said McKimmey left as his heirs who are now living a daughter Hester Ann and two sons Uri & William, all of whom are infants of tender years without guardian. He prays process and a judgement against said land.
Summons dated the 4th Monday in October 1846 and issued 10 Dec 1846 for Hester Ann McKimmey, Uri McKimmey & William McKimmey to appear in court on the 4th Monday in January next to answer the petition of Jesse McClees.
Summons dated the 4th Monday in April 1847 for Hester Ann McKimmey, Uri McKimmey & William McKimmey, heirs of Jos, McKimmey deceased to appear in court on the 4th Monday in July next to answer the petition of Jesse McClees.
