Dated 14 November 1804

In the name of God amen: This fourteenth day of November one thousand eight hundred and four I Zebidee Hassell Planter unwell in body but of a sound and perfect memory thanks be to Almighty God calling to mind the uncertain state of this transitory life that all flesh must yield unto death when it please God to call do make constitute ordain and declare this to be my last Will and Testament and no other revoking and anulling by these presents, all and every Will or Wills by me made either by word or written and this only is to be taken for my last Will and Testament and none other and first of all I recommend my soul to Almighty God that gave it and my body to be buried in a Christian manner by my executores hereafter named my temporal estate that it hath pleased God to bestow on me I dispose of in the following manner.

Item - I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Mary Hassell her heirs and assigns forever one shilling sterling money.

Item - I give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Debora Chandler her heirs and assigns forever one shilling sterling.

Item - I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Thomas Hassell his heirs and assigns forever one shilling sterling money.

Item - I give and bequeath unto Laban Cutrill his heirs and assigns forever forty pounds one cow and calf.

Item - All the remaining part of my estate both real and personal I do hereby impower Robert Wynne to sell the same in fair and open manner to the highest bidder and the money arising therefrom in the first place to pay all my just debts and in the second place to pay all incident expences and in the third place to pay all the money I have given away in deeds or gifts and in the fourth place the legacies contained in this will and the overplus if any after paying all expences ---

I give and bequeath unto Archibald Cutrell and Benjamin Cutrell their heirs and assigns forever to be equally divided among them ---

Item - I do hereby appoint my worthy friend Robert Wynne my executor of this my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I the said Zebidee Hassell have hereunto set my hand and seal day date before mentioned.

April Session 1807

The last will and testament of Zebedee Hassell was proved in court by the oath of William Applegate filed.

Ordered that Thomas Hassell have leave of administration on the estate of Zebedee Hassell with the will annexed and has given bond in the sum of one thousand pound James Hoskins and Richard Davis securities.

March Session 1810

Ordered that Abner Alexander Jesse Alexander and Moses E. Cator audite and settle the estate of Zebedee Hassell deceased and make due return of the same.

June Session 1810

Ordered Moses E. Cator Jesse Alexander and Richard Davis Esqrs. be appointed to settle the estate of Zebedee Hassell with Thomas Hassell administrator of the said Zebedee Hassell deceased.

Undated account between Zebedee Hassell and James Hoskins. Mentions coffin and burial of a child.
