Hooker, Frances, 1853
Bond dated 12 Feb 1853 in the amount of $500 appointing William J. Beasley special administrator of the estate of Frances Hooker deceased, Ephraim Leigh & Saml. McCleese securities.
Account of the sales of the property of Frances Hooker deceased sold on 22 Feb 1853 by the administrator Wm. J. Beasley at a credit of 6 months. Four pages of items sold and buyers thereof with total sales amounting to $267.91.
Bond dated 25 Apr 1853 in the amount of $600 appointing William J. Beasley administrator of the estate of Frances Hooker deceased, Henry McCleese & Benja. S. Basnight securities.
Petition January Term 1854 of Samuel McClees, guardian to Edna Swain, James Swain & Daniel Hooker, who shows that Frances Hooker lately departed this life intestate to whose estate the defendant William J. Beasley has been appointed administrator. Petitioner shows that his wards are the children of said Frances Hooker and there is in the hands of said William J. Beasley some five or six hundred dollars to which said wards are entitled. Petitioner prays an account against said William J. Beasley and a decree for what may be due his wards.

The 1850 Census of Tyrrell County shows the household of Frances Hooker (33), Daniel Hooker (5), James Swain (11), Edna Swain (9) and Pompey Simpson (13), a mulatto.
See the 1842 estate papers of Daniel Swain in which Fanny Swain is cited as his wife and James & Edna Swain as his children.
