Dosier, Tully L., 1854


Promissory note dated 5 Jan 1856 in which Nathan Overman & Wilson Sanderlin promise to pay $141 with interest from the first day of January next to Joseph B. Morgan, guardian to the orphans of Tully L. Dosier for the hire of negro Andrew for the year 1856.

The rest of this file has documents dealing with recovery of the above debt and other debts owed to Joseph B. Morgan, guardian to the orphans of Tully L. Dosier.

The 1850 Census of Currituck County shows the household of Tully L. Dozier (42), Sarah Dozier (33), Louisa Dozier (13), William Dozier (11), Ellen Dozier (8), Love Dozier (5), Amelia Dozier (1), Polly Fulford (30) and Munroe Fulford (4 mo).


The deceased in this case must have died in Currituck County and the guardian of his orphans lent money to residents of Tyrrell County and the guardian had to go to court in Tyrrell County to recover the debts.
