Promissory note dated 15 Jun 1848 in which B. B. Hathaway, Jos. B. Davenport & B. B. Phelps agree to pay $42.21 to C. Latham administrator of William H. Davenport on order after 6 months for value received.
Another document dealing with recovery of the above debt resulting in 50 acres belonging to Joseph B. Hathaway on the west side of the mouth of Scuppernong River being levied. The land joined Tully Spruill, Benjamin Hathaway & Hugh Chisum.
