December Session 1739

Wm. Ray prayed orders for letters of admin. on the estate of John Cothell deceased as his greatest creditor. Granted, he giving security in the sum of L 1000. Issd.

March Session 1740

An inventory of the estate of John Cauthin was exhibited in court by William Ray administrator of the estate of John Cauthin deceased Vca. Ordered that William Barrett, Benjamin Blunt and Benjamin Walker be and are hereby appointed to divide the said estate according to law and to make return of their proceedings to the next court.

June Session 1740

The division of John Cauthen continued.

September Session 1740

Whereas at March Court 1740 William Barrett, Benjamin Blunt and Benjamin Walker was appointed to divide the estate of John Cauthin deceased. And since that time one of the persons who was appointed to divide the said estate is deceased so that the said estate is not yet divided, it is therefore by the consideration of the justices of the said court ordered that James Jones, Benjamin Walker and William Barrett be and they are hereby appointed to divide the said estate into three equal parts between the widdow and the two children and to make return of the division to the next court upon oath.
