Cooper, John A., 1847
Bond dated 26 Apr 1847 in the amount of $4,000 appointing Franklin Liverman administrator of the estate of John A. Cooper deceased, Chas. McClees & Edmd. Clayton securities.
Petition April Term 1847 of Franklin Liverman, administrator of Jno. A. Cooper, who shows that the estate is so much indebted that the dents can't be paid by its perishable property. He further shows that a negro man named Isaac belongs to the estate, whom it is necessary to sell. He prays an order for the sale.
Petition July Term 1847 of Franklin Liverman, administrator of Jno. A. Cooper who shows that the estate is indebted in the amount of about $3,000, that the cost of administering the estate will be from $100 to $200 and that the goods and chattels, rights & credits amount to about $1,500, entirely insufficient to pay the debts. He further shows that his intestate left as his heirs at law in equal proportions George Simmons and wife Martha, in right of said Martha, Benjamin Cooper, Joseph Cooper & Mary Ann Cooper to whom have descended 30 acres of land joining Frederick Liverman and others and also 300 to 400 acres of swamp lands known as the Thoroughgood Swamp on Swan Creek Lake. Petitioned prays process and an order to sell said lands.
Petition October Term 1849 of Franklin Liverman, administrator of John A. Cooper deceased, who shows that the estate of said Cooper is indebted to him in the amount of $462 and that the assets of the estate have been exhausted and there are not personal assets sufficient to cover any part of the debt. He further shows that George W. Simmons and wife Martha in right of said Martha who is a sister, Benja. Cooper who is a brother, Jos. Cooper who is an infant without guardian and also a brother and Mary Ann Cooper, also an infant without guardian the sole descendant of another sister deceased are heirs at law to whom lands have descended from said Jno. A. Cooper and which lands are liable to the plaintiff's demand aforesaid. Petitioner prays that said heirs be made defendants, judgement and execution issue.
