Cohoon, Joseph, 1835


Bond 27 Apr 1835 in the amount of $1,000 appointing Wm. Alfred administrator of the estate of Joseph Cahoon deceased, Ash B. Liverman & Fred Patrick securities.

Petition October Term 1835 by Darkass Cahoon widow of Joseph Cahoon who died in 1835 seized and possessed of a tract of land joining Abel Cahoon, Hardy Powers & Thompson Liverman. She prays for her dower in this land to be set off to her.

Petition October Term 1835 by Darkass Cahoon widow of Joseph Cahoon who died in 1835 leaving her totally unprovided for. She prays an order for her year's allowance to be set off to her and that a copy of this petition be served upon William Alfred administrator of her late husband.

Petition July Term 1837 of Frederick Liverman and his wife Mary show that Joseph Cahoon died intestate and left as his heirs at law Mary your petitioner, Joseph, Betsy, Abel, Jordan & Prissilla Cahoon and that Joseph Cahoon is dead and died intestate leaving no heirs of his body. The father Joseph Cahoon died seized and possessed of 120 acres joining Benjamin Sykes & Abel Cahoon. All the heirs above have made legal conveyances of the land except Mary wife of Frederick Liverman and Jordan Cahoon and dower has been set off to the wife Darcass Cahoon. Petitioner prays a court order that a division be made and your petitioner Mary's part be laid off to her and her husband Frederick Liverman.
