Cohoon, Turner, 1849
Petition July Term 1849 of Nancy Cahoon, widow of Turner Cahoon, states that Turner Cahoon her late husband died about the month of April last leaving your petitioner unprovided for. The said Turner Cahoon left a considerable estate out of which your petitioner is entitled to a years support for herself and family. She prays a court order for her years allowance.
Bond dated 23 Jul 1849 in the amount of $1,000 appointing John McClees administrator of the estate of Turner Cahoon deceased, Charles McClees & Jos. McClees securities.

The 1830 Census of Tyrrell County shows Turner Cahoon's household as 1 male 5 - 10, one male 10-15, one male 30-40, 2 females 10 - 15, 2 females 15 - 20 and 1 female 30 - 40.
Turner Cahoon does not appear in the 1820 or 1840 census of Tyrrell County.
