Bond dated 11 Aug 1837 in the amount of $2,000 appointing James Brickhouse special administrator of the estate of Jno. Brickhouse Senr. deceased, Hez. G. Spruill & Samuel Rogers securities.

Bond dated 23 Oct 1837 in the amount of $1,000 appointing James Brickhouse administrator of the estate of Jno. Brickhouse Senr. deceased, Samuel Rogers & Thos. H. Alexander securities.

Warrant issued 26 Oct 1837 for Baily Davenport to return negro slave Fanny valued at $600 to James Brickhouse administrator of John Brickhouse Senr..

Warrant issued 26 Oct 1837 for William Wynne to return negro girl slave Love valued at $1,000 to James Brickhouse administrator of John Brickhouse Senr..

Petition July Term 1852 by James Brickhouse against Nathan M. Brickhouse agent for Nathan E. Brickhouse and Elizabeth Brickhouse Leweazar L. Brickhouse Nathan M. Brickhouse John E. Brickhouse and John E. Brickhouse administrator of Joseph Brown James Etheridge and wife Catharine John A. Brickhouse Jesse Brickhouse and Thos. P. Gibson guardian to Jos. Gibson, H. E. H. Brickhouse and Azor Snell and wife Sally heirs at law of John Brickhouse Senr. deceased. Petitioner shows that John Brickhouse Senr. died about the year 1837 intestate and administration was granted to petitioner. A suplus still remains of the estate and he desires pay it over to the heirs and distributees. He prays a suitable person be appointed to state the account between the parties and make report.

Account of James Brickhouse administrator of the estate of John Brickhouse Senr. audited by Saml. McClees & Jos. McClees on 14 Apr 1853 with a balance due the estate of $1,483.81. Estate sale was held on 1 Sep 1837 by James Brickhouse special administrator. There are also entries for John E. Brickhouse administrator on the estate of Susan Brickhouse with interest from 5 Sep 1850 and Asa Liverman administrator of the estate of Martha & Patsey Liverman with interest from 5 Sep 1850.

There are also documents relating to the recovery of debts due the estate.

The 1830 Census of Tyrrell County shows John Brickhouse Senr. to be between 60 and 70 years of age.

Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of James Etheridge to Cathrine Brickhouse on 4 Jul 1820, Matthew Brickhouse security; also Thomas Gibson to Clarissa Brickhouse on 28 Dec 1829, Seth Sanders Security; also Azar Snell to Sally Brickhouse on 9 Nov 1835, Uri Spruill security.

In the 1850 Census of Tyrrell County John E. Brickhouse (50) is a head of family, Affa Brickhouse (50) is his apparent wife and there are children ages 9 to 22. There is a marriage bond for John Brickhouse Jr. to Affa Brickhouse dated 30 May 1825.

In the 1850 Census of Tyrrell County John A. Brickhouse (44) is a head of family, Mary A. Brickhouse (22) is either a daughter or wife, there are children from 14 to 10 then a gap to age 2 indicating a possible second marriage, and Priscilla Fagan (39) and James H. Fagan (5). There are two marriage bonds for John A. Brickhouse, one to Eliza Brickhouse on 15 Apr 1835, Jos. A. Brickhouse security, and one to Mary Ann E. Tweedy on 13 Aug 1844, Henry P. Gibson security. There is also a marriage bond for Priscilla Brickhouse to James Fagan on 12 Apr 1838.

The 1850 Census of Tyrrell County shows the family of Thomas P. Gipson (45), Mary Gipson (44), Matilda Gipson (22), Joseph Gipson (15), Thomas L. Gipson (7) and Mary J. Gipson (5). Mary is an apparent second marriage for which there is no bond.

The 1850 Tyrrell County Census shows the family of Jesse Brickhouse (44), Sarah Brickhouse (50), Jesse Brickhouse (11), Ann E. Basnight (11) and Unice Brickhouse (25). Marriage bonds show the marriage of Jesse Brickhouse to Sarah Meekins on 14 Mar 1846.

The 1850 Census of Tyrrell County shows the family of Horation Brickhouse (35), Elizabeth Brickhouse (27), Jesse Brickhouse (9), Doctrine Brickhouse (8) and Henry W. Brickhouse (9 mo).

The 1850 Census of Tyrrell County shows the family of Azor Snell (36), Sarah Snell (36), Mary A. Snell (13), Elizabeth Snell (6), Acenith Snell (5), Vesti Snell (3) and James Snell (10 mo). Marriage bonds show the marriage of Azar Snell to Sally Brickhouse on 9 Nov 1835.

The 1850 Census of Tyrrell County shows the family of James Brickhouse (42), Anna Brickhouse (38), Dorcas M. Brickhouse (10) and Nancy Brickhouse (8). Marriage bonds show the marriage of James Brickhouse to Ann Brickhouse on 21 Jan 1839, S. S. Simmons security.
