Brickhouse, Rachel, 1848
Bond dated 28 Jan 1848 in the amount of $5,000 appointing James Brickhouse administrator of the estate of Rachel Brickhouse deceased, Henry McClees & Richd. Davenport deceased.
Petition July Term 1850 of Esther Brickhouse, Allen Phelps & wife Charlotte & Fred Rhodes & wife & F. Rhodes administrator of Rhoda Brickhouse against James Brickhouse, administrator of Rachael Brickhouse deceased. Petitioners state that they are the children and distributees of the said Rachael Brickhouse deceased who died in 1848 and James Brickhouse was appointed administrator. Said James has refused to make distribution of the estate. Petitioners therefore pray process to answer this petition and make account of his administration.

The 1850 Census of Tyrrell County shows the family of William B. Swain (30), Marilla Swain (30), Martha Swain (2), Permelia A. Rhodes (16) and Esther Brickhouse (34). Marriage bonds show Rilly Rhodes married William Swain on 19 Feb 1845.
