Alexander, Reddick, 1855
Bond dated 22 Jan 1855 in the amount of $19,000 appointing John McCleese admimistrator of the estate of Reddick Alexander deceased, Wm. McCleese, Jos. McClees & Jesse Sanderson securities.
Petition October Term 1855 of John McClees, administrator of Reddick Alexander who shows that he has exhausted all the perishable assets of the estate in paying the debys of the estate and that there yet remains debt unpaid. He prays a decree to sell a negro named Mariah belonging to the estate.
Petition April Term 1857 of Esther Alexander widow Isaac Alexander & Henry Alexander of full age and Mary, Nancy, James & John Alexander infants, children of Reddick Alexander complaining that John McClees, administrator of Reddick Alexander, has settled the estate and still has in his hands a large amount due your petitioners. They pray an account be stated and a decree be rendered for the amount due them.
Account of John McClees, administrator of the estate of Reddick Alexander, calculated to 25 Apr 1858. $34.75 is due the administrator.
Petition July Term 1859 of Esther Alexander, Isaac Alexander in his own right and as assignee of Henry Alexander, James Alexander, Nancy Alexander, John Alexander, Frances Caroline Alexander & Ann Alexander, infants by their guardian, William McClees, who are tenants in common of the following negro slaves to wit, Obidiah, Mary, Noah, Martha, Tamer, Charles, Debby & Malissa, eight negros and nine owners. Petitioners are unwilling longer to hold the same in common and an actual partition can't be made among the petitioners and a sale is necessary for that purpose. Petitioners pray an order for sale of said negros.

Petition October Term 1859 of Esther Alexander who states that her late husband, Reddick Alexander died intestate seized and possessed of 96 acres joining Henry McClees, John McClees, John A. Pledger & Henry A. Pledger. She shows that she is entitled to dower and that the heirs at law of said intestate are Isaac Alexander of full age in his own right and as assignee of Henry Alexander and the following infant children whose regular guardian is Henry McClees to wit Mary Ann Melson, wife of William Melson, which said William is under age and whose guardian is the said Henry McClees, James Alexander, Nancy Alexander, John Alexander, Anna Alexander & Frances Alexander. Petitioner prays process and a writ of dower.
The case of Jos. J. Martin Solicitor against Henry McClees guardian in the Superior Court, the Solicitor alleging that:
I. The defendant was appointed guardian to John Alexander & Francis Alexander infants at July Term 1859 and executed a bond with
John McClees & William McClees securities.
II. That he received as such guardian the estate of his said wards.
III. That three years have elapsed since his execution of said bond as guardian aforesaid.
IV. That he has been notified according to law to renew said guardian bond which he has refused and failed to do.
V. That said John Alexander & Francis Alexander infants are still under age.
VI. That the guardian account of the said Henry McClees shows that on 20 Jun 1869 he was indebted to his said wards in the sum of
$89.40.
VII. That the plaintiff is the acting Solicitor of the Second Judicial District of North Carolina and as such demands judgement of the court
against the defendant for the sum of $89.40 with interest from 29 Jun 1869 and with the cost of this action.
