WILL OF JOHN COPELAND



In the name of God Amen I John Copeland of Robeson County and State of
North Carolina being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be
God do this 28th day of September in the year of our Lord 1799 do make
and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that
is to say first I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Mary
Copeland all my property of lands and moveable estate within doors and
without to her during her widowhood and then to my son James Copeland
douly(?) the following legacies gifted I give to my daughter Elizabeth
six and ten shillings special(?) to her and her heirs forever.  Also I
give to my daughter Christin Colvin ten shillings special(?) to her
and her heirs forever also I give to my daughter Anna Upton ten
shillings special(?) to her and her heirs forever also I give to my
daughter Abigail Holmes ten shillings special(?) to her and her heirs
forever also I give to my daughter Ruth Watson ten shilings special(?)
to her and her heirs forever also I give to my daughter Mourning
Wiggins ten shillings special(?) to her and her heirs forever also I
give to my daughter Rachel Humphries ten shillings special(?) to her
and her heirs forever finish.  And I do make and ordain my worthy
friend  James Biggs and my well beloved son James Copeland executors
of this my last will and testament in witness where of I the said John
Copeland have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal
the day and year above written signed sealed published and declared by
the said John Copeland the testator as his last will and testament in
the presence of us who were present at the time of signing and sealing
thereof.
