Torn Letter fragment - Thomas Lewis Guardianship Bond
We Jointly and Severally promised to pay unto William Bullock Guardian for
Thomas Lewis orphan of Charles Lewis Decd the Sum of twenty three pounds eleven
shillings Currency to be paid on the 25th December next for the hire of a Negro named
Jorden & we further bind ourselves to provide for the said negro Jorden one good
dutch Blanket, one pair Dble sole Shoes, one pr. Stockings of Hose suitable for the Winter
season two good shirts of ---burgs or country Cloth, one pr. Britches of ------
or country cloth, one Jacket & pr Britches of good negro cloth or house manufactory
filled with wool or negro cotton for the true performance of which, & also for the
delivery of the above mentioned Slave to the said William Bullock, on the 25th Decr
next we bind ourselves – as Witness our hands & Seals this 26th December 1800
