Letter from H W Banks to Wm Smith
Richmond April 10th 1797
Mr Wm Smith
There is this evening a sale to be made
Of Eight Thousand Six Hundred Dollars of Morris
And Nicholsons notes which belongs to me to satisfy the
Sum of ₤82.10 ~ being the money due from me
by the negotiation I made with you on a/c of
Your Brother & Daniel Price. If you will
attend the sale & purchase in the notes for
me I shall be glad & you need not fear giving
price for them for you shall not be liable
for what you may Bidd only as far as
to the amount of the ₤82.10 ~ & If I
do not ------------------ for the -----------------
hold the notes as security ~ & dispose of th—
as you may think proper. for your own
Benefit it I don’t take them in when
