Will of John Winston of Bute Co, NC - 1768

In the Name of God Amen I John Winston of the County of Bute in the Province of North Carolina being Very Sick and weak of body but of Perfect Mind and Memory be to God for the same Calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed unto all men one to die do make and ordain this my lat will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and Renounce My Soul into the hand of the Almighty that gave it me. And my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a Christian Burial To the Direction of my Executors Nothing Doubting that at the General Resurrection I shall ----------------

I give desire and dispose of the ?same? in the Manner and form following

First I give and bequeath to my Dear beloved Mother the Plantation whereon she now doth dwell during her life and at her Disuase to my Beloved sister Mary Winston to her and her heirs forever.

Also I give and bequeath to my Well beloved mother all my household goods and one Negro girl & one horse and saddle to her during her life and after her Disuase to my sister Mary Winston to her and her heirs forever.

Also I give and bequeath to my Dear beloved Brother George Winston one hundred acres of land more or less Beginning at an Oak on Hutchinson line and running East till it entered the other line to him and his Heirs for ever

Also I leave my well beloved Mother Sarah Winston whom Likewise Constitute make the sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament.

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty eight.

Signed, sealed, published pronounced and declared by the Said John Winston as his Last Will and Testament . In the presence of us Whom the Presents of Each other have hereto Subscribed our names
