NASH COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA CEMETERY SURVEYS: INDEX FOR SURVEYED ONES LISTED AT THIS SITE

The new surveys for cemeteries previously surveyed by Margaret Battle and others, update the older ones with the\u00a0 names of individuals buried since about 1960.\u00a0 For example, all of Helen Sharpe’s extensive surveys update the cemeteries as of 2010.\u00a0 Many of the cemeteries listed here, need updated surveys, because they are still in use by families, churches and communities.\u00a0 Also, for all people with family cemeteries listed below please email Earl Bell, County Coordinator at earl.bell3@gmail.com, and indicate whether or not your cemetery is still taking burials and the person or persons currently maintaining it with either their email address or home address.\u00a0 This information will be of practical use for family members or surveyors who observe abuse or damage in a family cemetery.\u00a0 Also, if you are aware of a cemetery, especially smaller ones on farms, that are not listed in this index or have not been surveyed please let us know.\u00a0 It is estimated that approximately 50% of the family cemeteries in Nash County have not been surveyed.\u00a0 If true, this makes their survey a priority of the highest order!\u00a0 We need more people, especially those living in Nash County,\u00a0 to care about this condition!\u00a0 Finally, if readers are aware of people who are buried in a particular cemetery\u00a0 but whose graves are not marked or they are not listed here, please send us those names plus birth and death information so that we can post it at the appropriate graveyard.\u00a0 If you do not have birth or death information we can research it in Nash County and North Carolina death records for you and post it.
