{"id":536,"date":"2009-09-07T20:32:44","date_gmt":"2009-09-08T02:32:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ncgenweb.us\/jones\/?page_id=536"},"modified":"2009-09-07T20:32:44","modified_gmt":"2009-09-08T02:32:44","slug":"jacob-rhodes-to-william-rhodes","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ncgenweb.us\/jones\/deed-recs\/jacob-rhodes-to-william-rhodes","title":{"rendered":"Jacob Rhodes to William Rhodes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center; \"><em>Transcribed by <a href=\"\/jones\/contributors\">Sloan Mason<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>March 10, 1815<br \/>\nJones County, N.C.<\/p>\n<p>Know all men by these presents that I Jacob RHODES of the County of Jones, In consideration\u00a0of the Sum of One Hundred pounds to me in hand paid by William RHODES of the same county\u00a0at and before the Sealing and delivery, of these presents of the receipt where of I do hereby\u00a0acknowledge have bargained sold released granted and confirmed and by these present do\u00a0bargain sell release grant and confirm unto the said William RHODES, one negro Fellow by the\u00a0name of TONY aged about thirty five years of age, one negro wench by the name of Clo, aged\u00a0about twenty years, one negro boy the name of GEORGE aged about six years of age, one\u00a0negro boy by the name of LIAS aged about five years of age and one negro girl by the name of\u00a0LYIN? Aged about two years and the rest of any property that I have not sold to him before.<\/p>\n<p>To have and to hold all and singular the said goods and every of them by these presents\u00a0bargained and sold released granted and confirmed unto the only proper &#8212;&#8212;&#8212; and behoof of\u00a0the said William RHODES, his heirs executors and administrators and assigns forever and I\u00a0the said Jacob RHODES for myself my executors and admrs all and singular the said property\u00a0before mentioned unto the said William RHODES his executors administrators and assigns\u00a0against me the said Jacob RHODES my heirs executors administrators or assigns and against\u00a0all and every other persons and persons whatsoever I have and will warrant and forever defend by\u00a0theses presents In Witness whereof I have here unto signed my name this 10th of March 1815.<\/p>\n<p>Signed:<\/p>\n<p>Jacob RHODES, Seal<\/p>\n<p>In the presence of\u00a0James RHODES\u00a0Fountain WILLIAMS<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina<\/p>\n<p>Jones County Court May Term 1815.
