Will of Benjamin Askey
\nJune 18,1811<\/p>\n

In the name of God Amen I Benjamin Askey of the state of North Carolina and\u00a0the county of Jones being weak in body but of perfect sound mind and memory\u00a0blessed be God for the same do therefore this 18 th day of June in the\u00a0year of our Lord 1811 make and publish this my last will and testament in\u00a0manner and form following Vits<\/p>\n

First my will and desire is that my son John Askey is to have 100 acres of\u00a0land lying on the north side of Cabin Branch between ——— branch and\u00a0Poplar Branch be the same more or less.<\/p>\n

Second. My will and desire is that my son Josiah is to have 100 acres of\u00a0land lying on the south side of Cabin Branch and joining Masons Branch in\u00a0—- the plantation where on I now live also 100 acres lying on the North\u00a0side of Harrys Branch but my desire is that when —– my two sons above\u00a0mentioned takes possession of their lands that they pay unto my son Zadock\u00a0Askey 100 dollars each and in case of either of their deaths without an\u00a0heir that in that case the right to descend to Zadock. My desire also is\u00a0that my son Zadock should have 200 dollars more out of the residue of my\u00a0property ——- I also give unto my daughter Susannah Askey one cow and\u00a0one calf,one two year old heifer and one feather bed and furniture and also\u00a0to my daughters Elizabeth Hawkins and Peggy Tilmon to have one two year\u00a0old heifer each .And to my son Nathan Askey if ever he should come to have\u00a0one dollar<\/p>\n

Item.My desire is that my beloved wife Susannah is to have her choice to\u00a0live on either of my plantations and to have full priviledge as to wood or\u00a0timber during her natural life or widowhood.\u00a0My desire is also that my executors sell one —- one horse some barrel\u00a0timber and barrells and that the residue and remaining part of my property\u00a0be unto my wife during her natural life —— constitute,appoint and\u00a0ordain my beloved wife Suzannah Askey and my son John Askey as executators\u00a0of this my last will and testament .Hereby revoking and defrauding and\u00a0making ——– all other wills by me here to fore made ratifting ———\u00a0to be my last will and testament wher I here unto set ——<\/p>\n
