{"id":215,"date":"2009-08-26T22:47:16","date_gmt":"2009-08-27T04:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ncgenweb.us\/jones\/?page_id=215"},"modified":"2009-08-26T22:47:16","modified_gmt":"2009-08-27T04:47:16","slug":"will-of-benjamin-askey-1811","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ncgenweb.us\/jones\/wills\/will-of-benjamin-askey-1811","title":{"rendered":"Will of Benjamin Askey &#8211; 1811"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Transcribed by <a href=\"\/jones\/contributors\">Ben Askew, Jr.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Will of Benjamin Askey<br \/>\nJune 18,1811<\/p>\n<p>In the name of God Amen I Benjamin Askey of the state of North Carolina and\u00a0the county of Jones being weak in body but of perfect sound mind and memory\u00a0blessed be God for the same do therefore this 18 th day of  June in the\u00a0year of our Lord 1811 make and publish this my last will and testament in\u00a0manner and form following Vits<\/p>\n<p>First my will and desire is that my son John Askey is to have 100 acres of\u00a0land lying on the north side of Cabin Branch between &#8212;&#8212;&#8212; branch and\u00a0Poplar Branch be the same more or less.<\/p>\n<p>Second. My will and desire is that my son Josiah is to have 100 acres of\u00a0land lying on the south side of Cabin Branch and joining Masons Branch in\u00a0&#8212;- the plantation  where on I now live also 100 acres lying on the North\u00a0side of Harrys Branch  but my desire is that when &#8212;&#8211; my two sons above\u00a0mentioned takes possession of their lands that they pay unto my son Zadock\u00a0Askey 100 dollars each and in case of either of their deaths without an\u00a0heir that in that case the right to descend to Zadock.
